Episode 1 - Sports for Everyone

  • Summary

  • In this episode, we’ll highlight some fantastic activities that make sport accessible for all, by breaking down barriers for people to get active in Glasgow, and how you too can get involved.

As we celebrate Glasgow 2023 European Capital of Sport, we meet Barry McCluskey from Blind Golf Scotland, a charity that helps people who are registered blind to learn, or, continue playing golf, and we find out how sport can have a positive impact on the lives of young refugees and asylum seekers living in Glasgow.

We join a training session with Glasgow Raptors, Glasgow’s LGBT+ inclusive rugby club to hear from them and LEAP Sports Scotland on their work breaking down barriers for LGBTI communities, and we visit Drumchapel Sports Centre to find out all about Parkinson’s Table Tennis, and how this sport helps people living with this condition.
