I found these stories a little difficult to get into as I didn't warm to the main character at all. I persevered and they are entertaining enough as background noise while I work. What I found most irritating is the authors repeated use of the phrase "sensible grey hybrid" when referring to the main characters car. It becomes pretty annoying as she's getting into her "sensible grey hybrid", driving her "sensible grey hybrid", parking her "sensible grey hybrid" and getting out of her "sensible grey hybrid" very frequently! It really starts to grate. Is it some hidden joke I'm missing?? Just say car!

Great cosy crime short stories. Very well performed. Many of the murderers can be guessed easily, but it’s always interesting how the characters unwind the mystery.
