• Episode 113: How Alabama Loss Impacts Georgia's Spot In CFP Picture, Hugh Freeze Melting Down, What Basketball Schools Definitely, Maybe Might Be Good?
    Oct 1 2024

    The Associated Press has spoken!

While the AP only dropped Georgia three spots after their narrow defeat at Alabama, John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) and Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) had slightly differing opinions on where the Dawgs are at in their latest College Football Playoff projections?

As Cody goes through all five stages of grief when it comes to Mack Brown's second tenure at North Carolina, Buhler puts Hugh Freeze on blast ahead of this weekend's of the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry being played Between the Hedges.

Also, Florida State is 1-4 and has no virtually no shot of going bowling now.

Plus, these traditional basketball powers definitely, maybe might be good.

False Start tries its best to keep at least one wheel on the rails at all times. Enjoy!

  • Three Yards And A Cloud Of Punt: Week 5, 2024: Alabama Holds Off Georgia, Ole Miss Stumbles Vs. Kentucky, Penn State Is Better Than You Think
    Sep 29 2024

    Welcome back, fam!

Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) made his triumphant return to the program after spending a week and change at Yellowstone.

His arrival was perfectly timed to help talk John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) off the ledge after seeing his beloved Georgia Bulldogs lose to Alabama once again...

While the new College Football Playoff format helps teams like Georgia who suffer close regular-season losses, it might be time to be all-out on Ole Miss, who just lost at home to Kentucky.

Also, Penn State is the best team nobody is talking about.

False Start burned the midnight oil after Week 5 with Three Yards and a Cloud of Punt so you didn't have to. Enjoy!

  • Episode 112: CFB Week 5 Preview, What Happens To CFP Picture After Alabama-Georgia, Illinois-Penn State, Etc.?, Just Like Novocaine With System Of A Down (ft. Alicia de Artola Castillo)
    Sep 26 2024

    Wake up!

It's Week 5 in the college football world, and we at False Start could not be happier about it.

As Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) presumably got up close and personal with Old Faithful, John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) welcomed back the Penguin of Troy herself Alicia de Artola Castillo (Editor, FanSided.com) to the program.

Alicia and Buhler then previewed a handful of intriguing games for Week 5. From Alabama-Georgia, to Illinois-Penn State, to Louisville-Notre Dame, to Oklahoma State-Kansas State, it's all there.

Also, the Mountain West is falling to pieces with Pac-12 poaching happening and UNLV falling apart at the seams from a personnel standpoint only four weeks in.

Plus, Oklahoma made a quarterback change and we had some thoughts about it.

To finish up the show, Alicia and Buhler played Just Like Novocaine with System of a Down. Just like Serj Tankian's SOAD lyrics, this episode was all over the place!

  • Episode 111: AP Top 25 Poll Reactions, How USC's Loss To Michigan Impacts CFP Picture, Bo Wallace Vs. Hugh Freeze, Put A P4 HC Into A Hogwarts House, Bruh! (ft. Alicia de Artola Castillo)
    Sep 24 2024

Well, look who we have here!

The Penguin of Troy herself Alicia de Artola Castillo (Editor, FanSided.com) joined John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) to help commandeer this rocking ship, as Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) galavants across Yellowstone for a bit longer.

Alicia and Buhler unpacked the latest from the Associated Press, as well as assessed how punitive of a Week 4 loss it was for her beloved USC Trojans in the College Football Playoff picture.

Also, they checked in on the internet feud between Bo Wallace and Hugh Freeze.

Plus, they put several important Power Four head coaches into Hogwarts houses.

Win, lose or draw, False Start prevails! ... except there are no draws in college football!

  • Three Yards And A Cloud Of Punt: Week 4, 2024: Michigan Upsets USC, Tennessee Survives Late Scare Vs. Oklahoma, Miami Is The Best Team In The ACC
    Sep 22 2024

It was an eventful Saturday, alright...

While Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) and the NC State Podcast enjoy their time in Yellowstone, in addition to putting up with Antonio, John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) rode solo like a cup on this installment of Three Yards and a Cloud of Punt over on False Start.

Buhler was throughly impressed by how good Miami has looked through the first third of the season. He also could not believe Michigan beat USC at home with only a run-first attack.

While North Carolina and North Carolina State had no good, very bad days on the football field, we still have no idea what to think of the ceilings for contending teams like Tennessee, Missouri and Utah.

    False Start will carry on!

  • Episode 110: Josh Heupel's Oklahoma Homecoming, Michigan Makes A Change At QB, What If Florida State Loses At Home To Cal?
    Sep 19 2024

It should be a weekend for the ages in major college football.

Josh Heupel will be returning to Norman, but I don't think he will be wearing his Oklahoma letterman's jacket during that matchup. Tennessee looks to be filthy good!

Sherrone Moore finally figured out that this is his team and made the right change at quarterback for Michigan. Will Alex Orji be the upgrade the Wolverines need over Davis Warren?

Also, Cal loves to lose to winless teams under Justin Wilcox, but Florida State might be awful.

Plus, the guys look at the most pleasant surprises and the greatest disappointments in the Power Four thus far.

False Start prevails, as John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) and Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) drive this thing into ditch before Cody, Antonio and the NC State Podcast go to the Wyoming for top-secret business (Yellowstone).

  • Episode 109: The Great Texas QB Debate Between Quinn Ewers And Arch Manning, Michigan Wishes It Had Texas' Emerging Problem, It Has Hit The Fan In Tallahassee
    Sep 16 2024

While Michigan does not appear to have a quarterback, Texas may have two.

As Alex Orji overtakes Davis Warren on the Michigan depth chart, Arch Manning is creeping ever closer to the talented, but often-injured Quinn Ewers.

Texas is on top of the college football world after overtaking Georgia for No. 1 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll, but the boys have questions about that.

Also, Mark Stoops played conservative, or scared, in the final minutes vs. Georgia.

Plus, Florida State is the most unhappy place on Earth this side of Charlotte.

John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) and Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) allowed the Week 3 dust to settle and then reacted accordingly to get the False Start listeners ready for what should be an exciting Week 4 slate of college football.

  • Three Yards And A Cloud Of Punt: Week 3, 2024: It's A Bird, It's A Plane, It's Arch Manning!, Georgia Survives Lexington Shenanigans, LSU And Oklahoma Might Be Fraudulent
    Sep 15 2024

Great things happen when you don't forget your student ID!

While Quinn Ewers got hurt (again...), we got to see what all the hype was about regarding his high-profile Texas backup Arch Manning. He looked like a Manning, but with the wheels Uncles Peyton and Eli could only buy at a Buick dealership.

Somewhat across the pond, Georgia kind of sort of played with its food a bit vs. Kentucky, but Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) felt confident to talk John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) off the ledge, my friend, hoping he'd understand his point of view on the Dawgs.

Also, the boys think LSU and Oklahoma are complete frauds to make the College Football Playoff out of the SEC.

Plus, they are not ready just yet to crown Oregon, or give Notre Dame its bed of roses for beating the walking, talking tomato can that is Purdue.

False Start can't stop, won't stop, not even if they're only getting Three Yards and a Cloud of Punt for their efforts.
