In this second episode of Powers of the Soul, we give an overview of the five levels of the soul and discuss how the soul has been downloaded with all of wisdom and it serves as our navigation system in this very physical world.

In this episode, we begin a new book "Powers of the Soul" by Tom Meyers. Tom is a student of the teachings of Rabbi Noach Weinberg, founder of Aish HaTorah in Jerusalem, and in this book, he explains how we can tap into the energy of soul, use and enjoy the physical world in service of spirituality, and use our strength of mind to create a personal mission. In part 1 we discuss the need for a navigational system or a spiritual roadmap if you will that can guide and give us direction on this earthly journey.

Teshuva, the act of taking stock or doing a self audit allows us to get better and what we do naturally. As business leader was wont to note "What gets measured gets managed". Self-management deepens our integrity and our connection to God as well as enhancing all of our interpersonal relationships. Now it time time of year reflect on the past twelve months and comment to making this coming year qualitatively better.

When we engage in or entertain negativity towards a fellow Jew we may inadvertently violate four additional mitzvot. In this podcast, we reference four additional mitzvot that focus our minds on having positive regard for others.

Our limbic system is designed for our survival. Its job is to protect us from harm and keep us alive to live another day. But what happens when this survival system goes on high alert when a threat is perceived but in reality the event poses no threat to us at all? How does this biological mechanism fuel Sinat Chinam and how can we derail it?

This episode of the Jewish Unity in an Age of Sinat Chinam, the second in our series discuss and quotes sources in Tanach and Talmud that describe the origin of Sinat Chinam (Baseless Hatred) and how it has affected Jewish history and how we are still ensnared in this conflict.
