  • How Different Diets Impact Your Health | Dr. Christopher Gardner
    May 12 2025
My guest is Dr. Christopher Gardner, Ph.D., professor of medicine and director of nutrition studies at Stanford. He is known for his pioneering research on the impact of dietary interventions on weight loss and health. We compare ketogenic, vegetarian, vegan and omnivorous diets—and why there is no one-size-fits-all approach. All agree, however, that eliminating or dramatically reducing processed foods is best for health. We discuss the protein needs controversy; plant vs. animal proteins; the importance of fiber and low-sugar fermented foods for gut health and inflammation; and how diet affects gene expression. We also review food allergies—including gluten, wheat, dairy and soy—as well as raw dairy. The episode offers data-supported advice for healthier eating. • Essentials: How Hearing & Balance Enhance Focus & Learning
    May 8 2025
In this Huberman Lab Essentials episode, I explore how the auditory and vestibular (balance) systems are essential for enhancing learning and improving focus. I explain how the auditory system captures sound waves and how the brain interprets these signals to make sense of the environment. I also discuss the use of white noise and binaural beats to support brain states conducive to learning, focus and relaxation. Additionally, I explain how the vestibular system helps maintain balance and examine practical tools to enhance auditory learning, cognitive performance and mood. I discovered Andrew Huberman's podcast through David Sinclair and Tom Bilyeu and boy am I glad I did! It is a gold mine of uber useful information that you can apply in your day to day life to improve it. I am taking notes! I have 10 pages of it! It's probably the most info dense podcast out there. Can't thank Andrew Huberman enough for his time, and his guests' too, for the knowledge he shares which enabled me to elevate my life to new heights I didn't think possible! We have to be thankful for people like Andrew Huberman - the information on this podcast has been a game changer for me. Not only is it utterly fascinating but it is incredibly useful too. For people like me who are interested in science and useful, practical ideas that can be implement in everyday life, but were never focused enough or academically minded enough to pursue a career in science, it creates an access point to the cutting edge of current research. He is a great presenter of the information too. I highly appreciate the effort that must go into creating such an informative podcast and can only thank Andrew Huberman for his time and effort. Many of the protocols have had a very beneficial impact on my life and have made me more positively aware of my own health and looking after it in a more concrete way. In short, I love this!
