  • Trump Picks Matt Gaetz for Attorney General and Gaetz Promptly Resigns From Congress
    Nov 15 2024

In a move that caused an eruption of REPUBLICAN in-fighting, Donald Trump named Matt Gaetz as his pick for Attorney General of the United State of America. Politicians, left, right and center, promptly spoke out in recognition of one unassailable truth - Gaetz is not qualified to be AG.

So what's really going on here? Well, the House Ethics Committee was preparing to release an ethics investigation into Gaetz this Friday. But if Gaetz resigned from Congress, the House loses its jurisdiction over him, such that the ethics report would never see the light of day. So . . . Gaetz resigned from Congress after just winning reelection.

Interestingly, other members of Congress - Senator Rubio and Rep. Stefanik, for example - were named as Trump picks and they DIDN'T resign from Congress.

Glenn says: It's pretty obvious what's really going on here.

  • Will Trump Finally Be Sentenced On His 34 New York Felony Convictions?
    Nov 14 2024

Ever since a New York jury found Donald Trump guilty of 34 felony crimes involving falsifying business records to cheat in the 2016 presidential election, we've been waiting for the case to proceed to sentencing.

We were expecting a ruling from the presiding judge, Juan Merchan, on November 12th on Trump's motion to dismiss based on the Supreme Court's presidential immunity ruling. But Judge Merchan just pushed the deadline from November 12th to November 19th, with Trump's sentencing date still being set for November 26th. Glenn discusses the reasons for this one-week delay and the options Judge Merchan has available to him come sentencing time.

  • Supreme Court REJECTS Trump's Former Chief Of Staff Mark Meadows' Effort To Avoid GA Prosecution
    Nov 13 2024

We are looking for points of light wherever we can find them. Today's legal development provides a point of light from a most unlikely place - the US Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court refused to disturb the rulings of lower federal court judges that Meadows' conduct and crimes to help Trump try to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia were not part of Meadows' official duties as Chief of Staff to Trump.

This video discusses the implications of this legal development.
