    Nov 27 2024
Welcome Back to the ROCK MOVERS with Coach Karen Gray - In this conversation, Dana Diaz shares her profound journey of overcoming narcissistic abuse and the impact it had on her life with Coach Karen. She discusses her experiences in a 25-year marriage marked by isolation and emotional turmoil, leading to her eventual realization of self-worth and the importance of breaking free from toxic relationships. Through her books, 'Gasping for Air' and 'Choking on Shame', Dana aims to validate the experiences of others who have faced similar struggles, emphasizing the power of storytelling in healing. She also highlights her aspirations to help others navigate their paths to recovery and empowerment. Who is Dana Diaz? Dana S. Diaz studied journalism and psychology at DePaul University. While there’s no better teacher than life experience and Dana has had life-long experiences with narcissistic abuse, her education did give her the ability to accurately verbalize and express how narcissistic abuse creates confusion and conflict within victims. Today, Dana is a proud voice for fellow victims who are unable, afraid, or ashamed to share their experiences. She strives to create awareness and understanding to ensure victims are given the support they need to first understand their situation and then begin the healing process. Her first book, chronicling her own abusive marriage that lasted nearly three decades, started as a journal that she hid under the couch cushion in the basement. Dana lives with her husband in Illinois and is working on the prequel and sequel to Gasping for Air. Takeaways Narcissistic abuse often leads to isolation and self-doubt. Podcasts can provide validation and connection for those suffering. Realizing one's own worth is crucial for breaking free from toxic relationships. It's important to listen to your gut feelings about relationships. Choosing to prioritize oneself is the first step to healing. Mistakes do not define who you are; it's essential to forgive yourself. Empowerment comes from recognizing and reclaiming your narrative. Quote Worthy Sound Bites from Dana "For me, it just means being a good role model of whatever aspect of life I'm trying to lead." Nov 22 2024
Welcome back ROCK MOVERS!!! Today’s episode is going to be a little different - we are jumping right into the conversation with Coach Karen and her guest, Carrie Campbell as they delve into the essence of leadership. They explore the distinction between influencers and true leaders, the unique challenges faced by women in leadership roles, and the importance of mindset and identity in personal development. Carrie shares her insights on the responsibilities of leadership, the necessity of self-awareness, and the power of visualization in overcoming challenges. The discussion also highlights upcoming events and opportunities for personal growth and transformation. WHO IS CARRIE? Carrie Campbell, is and has been many things in her life so a brief bio never seems fitting, but to summarize Carrie in a few words... she has been an impact leader her whole life. At the young age of 4 years old her grandfather asked what she wanted to do when she grew up and her reply was "Change the World Gramps" and she has since spent her life dedicated to helping, serving and healing the world. A clinical counselor by education and an Elite Human Performance Coach in practice she with her husband Brian Grasso created The Eliminate Your Limits Mindset Program, which is the base foundation of all her coaching. Whether she is leading an NBA player to the greatest season and life possible, helping multi-millionaire corporate executives balance all aspects of life or helping save a woman from the self-sabotage of their trauma cycles. She thrives on serving others, changing, saving and creating lives. Outside her professional world she also holds the title of Miss Fitness USA 35+ as a fitness competitor and has her eyes set on a World Championship title. She is a wife and mother (to 2 biological and 2 chosen young adults) and while this is coming last, parenting and relationships are really the first thing in her life always. I use processes such as motivation, flexible thinking, and a value-based framework to help parents get unstuck. I help parents in every aspect, whether they have neurodiverse or neurotypical kids, improving health, increasing energy, or achieving a more harmonious work-life balance, to enhance their quality of life with their child.
