On the run recording of the Arc 50 Hayle to Godrevy section condensed into about 30 minutes of run time.

Taking you through the Dunes - often referred to as the 'Dunes of Doom' - well lets hope not! I've been through here several tie including twice last winter in the dark with my good friend Tracy Waite. I took some photos on this and previous run which you can find on my Arc Training Website section. You can also photos from my previous podcast episode which covered the Zennor to St Ives section. Next up I'll be looking to cover Pendeen to Zennor.

I've broken the ARC 50 down into 9 sections:

    1. Minack to Lands End
    2. Lands End to Cape Cornwall
    3. Cape Cornwall to Pendeen
    4. Pendeen to Zennor
    5. Zennor to St Ives
    6. St Ives to Hayle
    7. Hayle to Godrevy
    8. Godrevy to Portreath
    9. Portreath to Porthtowan

    This episode covers section 7
The previous one covers section 5
And I'm planning to cover section 4

For me these are the crucial sections as I'll be chasing cut off times at St Ives and then Godrevy.

I ran my first, and so far only, ultra marathon in 2021 - the 44 mile Classic Quarter - to celebrate a landmark birthday which was a few weeks before the run.

This podcast started as a way of me learning how to do that - hence why it’s called Running 44@60. The adventure then turned into a book and as a business consultant it became both a business and running book and is available on Amazon via this link: 12 Business Lessons from Running an Ultra Marathon.

My run raised over £7000 for Childrens Hospice South West Music Therapy programme and every book bought on Amazon generates another £5 for the programme.

That ‘couple’ quickly turned into six!

So a big thank to Richard, Anya, Himani, Tom, Nicky and Matt for contributing to this episode.

Five of the group are running the Lighthouse Marathon on Saturday November 9th which is on the ARC 50 course starting at Pendeen.

We are meeting again on December 12th where we will catch on what has happened in the previous 5 weeks and will talk about mandatory kit, rules and regulations and our eating / drinking plans.

Thoroughly Entertaining

Found this podcast last year, and set out listening to every episode right ftom the start. Finally after a marathon level of binge listening, I'm right up to date. Funny, inspiring, and informative. This show has got it all, and more. So much so, that I'm about to do my first official Half Marathon. Nothing compared to what Trevor manages, but there was a time I didn't even believe that was possible.
