Stewardship - Part 3 Pastor David King

(Proverbs 18:21 MSG) Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.

(James 1:26 NIV) Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.

(Proverbs 18:21) The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

(Proverbs 29:18) Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.

    1. ____________.

(John 3:16) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

(Luke 15:19-20) 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ 20 So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

    2. _________________.

(2 Corinthians 3:17) Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

    3. _______________________.

(Acts 2:17) In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

(Jeremiah 29:11) For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

(Numbers 6:24-26) 24 “‘The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; 26 the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’

(Romans 15:13) May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

    4. _________________________________.

(1 Peter 4:10-11) 10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Stewardship - Part 2 Pastor David King

(Jeremiah 17:9) The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

(2 Timothy 3:2) People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,

(Jeremiah 17:5) This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord.”

(Matthew 6:33) But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

(Matthew 6:21) For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

(John 3:16) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

(Psalms 119:36) Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.

(Proverbs 3:5-6) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

(Matthew 6:24) “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

    Stewardship. Part 1. Justin Brock

(Luke 15:11-16) A man had two sons. The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So, his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons. “A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living. About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over the land and he began to starve. He persuaded a local farmer to hire him, and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs. The young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything.”

    We ______________.

    We engage in _________________________.

We _____________________ from those who can help.

We find ourselves in a _________.

(Psalms 88:8) “You have driven my friends away by making me repulsive to them. I am in a trap with no way of escape.”

(Psalms 34:18) “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”

(Luke 15:17-20) When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.”’ “So, he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.”

    1. __________________________________ of where you are.

(Psalms 51:1, 5-6) Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. For I was born a sinner—But you desire honesty from the womb, teaching me wisdom even there.”

(Psalms 32:3-5) “When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.”

    2. Develop a ________________________.

(Proverbs 21:5) “Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.”

    3. ________________________ ask God for help.

(1 Peter 5:5-7) for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”

    4. Do it _________.

(Proverbs 6:10-11) “A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit;”
