In this episode we talk to long time Plattekill ski instructor and skiing enthusiast Sean Riley. We talk about learning to ski in northern New Jersey at Campgaw Mountain, his (and our) love of skiing and snowboarding, whether or not this love constitutes an “addiction” and how the sport has changed over the years… a few relevant links

We are Brownskii (Andy) and Keukaboi (Robert). We both write about skiing for NYSkiblog.com. We love skiing and snowboarding. This is the introductory episode of The Double Chair Podcast. This podcast is named after the Double Chair at Plattekill Mountain in Roxbury, NY but really it’s named for all the fixed grip double and triple chairlifts all over upstate New York. We believe that these ski lifts and the independent family run ski areas that keep them running represent the very soul of skiing, both its history and its future. At its core this podcast is going to be about skiing in and around New York State. We are going to look for stories that will matter to New York skiers. We are going to talk about ski areas, ski gear, snowboards, skis, ski instructors, snowmakers, ski patrollers, ski addicts, casual skiers and ski bums. In this episode we talk about our favorite posts from NYskiblog and some of our best chairlift conversations.. Here are links to a few of the blog posts we mentioned:
