Title: S4EP4, Parents STOP AND LISTEN, This is the new MADD with Margot Denomme Summary: Margot Denomme quit her job as a Crown Attorney (District Attorney in the US), to educate and create awareness about how low self-esteem and social media can harm children, leading to mental health struggles, bullying and legal issues. She compares her efforts to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and how they have changed the culture about drunk driving. Her first two books, "Mommy Am I Pretty" and "Awesome Inside and Out" address how our children see themselves. Comparing themselves to what they see on social media has led to a new generation with anxiety, depression and a new mental health crisis. Margot is passionate about turning around this crisis. Her journey began in 2013 with the Celebrate You tour where she visited over 150 schools in Canada and the US, addressing the dangers of social media and promoting self-worth. Margot's new book, The Family Smartphone Guide is a radical way to educate families about the new and growing dangers of giving your children a smartphone too early. Her website: www.raadd.ca stands for raising awareness about digital dangers. Please tune in to this possibly life changing interview that can educate parents, children, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends to possible predators and dangers of social media. This is not to create fear, but rather to educate and grow awareness. Margot's work with Kikori, an experiential social emotional learning platform, is taking her work into schools. Contact Margot for speaking engagements and to buy her books at her web site or at info@raadd.ca BIO: Margot Denommé, JD, Lawyer, Author, Speaker Margot Denommé is the Founder of Raising Awareness About Digital Dangers (raadd.). Title: S4EP3, Reinventing Themselves at 60 and 93, An Amazing Mother and Daughter Conversation with Amy Goober and Gwen Borden Summary: Amy Goober and Gwen Borden wrote a book together. Why is that interesting? Because Gwen is Amy’s mother. Amy was always quoting her mother and decided to let the world benefit from her wisdom. Their book is called, "My Mother Always Says," 25 lessons for Finding the Silver Lining. It's a great gift for Mother's Day for mothers, daughters, sisters and friends. Gwen Borden tells her amazing story about living through the blackout in World War II, alone in her dark house at 10 years old. She learned to pretend, had confidence, and told herself, "I'll be ok." This attitude has served her well. When she became a young widow at 44, she reinvented herself and started a bereavement center. At 93, she is still going strong and thinking of her next career. Amy Goober, Gwen's daughter, has used her mother’s strength, fortitude and wisdom in her own life and with her coaching clients. . Amy also re-invented herself many times and now runs Travel for Women, writes books, and creates connections for women. She borrowed her mother’s strong will and made sure their book got published. Her work, trips, and groups can be found at www.amygoober.com Thank you both for your wisdom, courage, and for being great examples for women. #hilaryburns #gettingrealwithhilary #AmyGoober #GwenBorden #realtalk #getreal #getfree #inspiration #thegettingrealwithhilaryshow #Mymotheralwaysays #amygoober #gwenborden #mothers #daughters #womenstravel #communities #911 #bereavement #bereavementcenters #bettertogether #reinventyourself #resiliency #thegettingrealwithhilaryshow #kikoriapp.com #norfolkva #polio #heroine #pretend

You Might Be Surprised with Christine Miles, S4EP2 Summary: "What is it Costing You Not to Listen," Christine Mile's first book, literally changed my life. 96% of us think we are good listeners and given what we know about listening, that makes sense. But, given what we don't know about listening, it means our lives could work 1000% better. The old, we don't know what we don't know. Christine's book addresses the problem that we don't even know we have. Listening is the most powerful underdeveloped skill, according to Christine. She focuses on understanding and Story Gathering. Christine developed the Listening Path which she is bringing into schools across the world. She is training young people to be better learners and leaders. She has worked with companies, helping them to be more effective, successful, and better places to work. Her mission is to eliminate the divisive and polarizing discourse in the country.
