If you have never heard about the Sylvia Likens then be warned it is the most horrific incident in Indianapolis history. Sylvia was a 16 year old girl who, with her sister, were in the care of their neighbors while their parents were traveling with a carnival. Over the course of her stay, Sylvia was beaten, malnourished, assaulted, and eventually, murdered. It is a hard story to hear, but her story deserves to be told.
