  • Jesus’ explanation of the Parable of the Sower highlights four different responses to the gospel. The seed is “the word of the kingdom.” The hard ground represents someone who is hardened by sin; he hears but does not understand the Word, and Satan steals the message away, keeping the heart hardened and preventing the Word from making an impression. What struck me was how Jesus explained in order for a new plant to grow the old plant must die first. Plants are fascinating, it takes time and patience to plant a seed and wait for the plant to rise and become full in its expression. The new plant represent our resurrected savior, through Christ we are regenerated and restoration take place.
