Aristóteles nació en Estagira, Macedonia, en el año 384 a. C. y murió en el año 322 a. C. Fue discípulo de Platón y maestro de Alejandro Magno. Creó el Liceo, que fue tan prestigioso como la Academia. Su filosofía se caracteriza por ser un movimiento filosófico y científico basado en la experimentación. En un panorama filosófico denominado por la ciencia del mundo exterior y la cosmología, creó un concepto de la sociedad, de la realidad y del hombre totalmente diferente.

La primera ambición de Platón fue la de consagrarse como luchador, pero no pudo llegar a los Juegos Olímpicos. Probó entonces suerte como poeta trágico, pero no ganó ninguno de los grandes certámenes. Como último recurso, fue a visitar a Sócrates. Fue amor a primera vista; el joven Platón decidió dedicarse a la filosofía. En el 387 a.C. fundaba la Academia ateniense, la primera universidad de la historia, donde enseñaba a sus discípulos que cuanto vemos no es la genuina realidad, sino una reproducción imperfecta de la misma. Se forjaba así una de las filosofías más vigorosas de la historia.

Una novela que habla del mito del amor romántico como mandato social a través de la propia experiencia de la autora en pareja con su primer amor adolescente, distante 400 kilómetros de su propia casa, ambos residentes en la Argentina. La protagonista, que está en continuo movimiento, desplazándose de una ciudad a otra, de un país a otro, pero siempre pendulando entre su propia ciudad y la de su pareja, intenta comprender de qué modo el amor se ve condicionado por el desplazamiento físico y temporal.

Er ist dabei keinesfalls bescheiden, sondern präsentiert seine Erkenntnisse als schicksalhafte Ereignisse von globaler Bedeutung. "Ecce Homo" ist das letzte Werk vor seinem Nervenzusammenbruch im Jahre 1889.

جون لوك فيلسوف وطبيب بريطاني. يعد واحدًا من المفكرين الأكثر تأثيرًا في عصر التنوير، حيث يعتبر مصدر المعرفة والأفكار ليس العقل، وإنما التجربة التي نحتك بها ونكتسبها عن طريق الحواس، وهو صاحب القول المشهور «العقل صفحة بيضاء» وأراد من خلاله الاعتراض على العقلانيين القائلين بتوفر العقل على أفكار فطرية، مبيناً أن العقل لا يتوفر على شيء، وأن مصدر أفكاره ومبادئه وقواعده التجربة فقط، وبذلك أسس للفلسفة الحسية التجريبية.

يعدُّ الدكتور مصطفى محمود من أبرز مفكري القرن الواحد العشرين فبعد حصوله على شهادة الطب تفرَّغ للبحث والكتابة فألَّف ما يقارب المئة كتاب بمواضيع فكرية مختلفة علمية ودينية وفلسفية واجتماعية وسياسية كما قدَّم 400 حلقة من برنامجه الشهير العلم والإيمان على مدى ربع قرنٍ من الزمان.

و يختم موسى كتابه بفصل أسماه "في تبرير الحرية الفكرية" ،ويقول فيه : "إنّ التفكير لا يكون

حراً طليقاً حتى نستطيع الإفضاء به إلى غيرنا، لأنّ الفكرة طاقة أى قوة من قوى الذهن، لا تزال منحبسة شأنها شأن جميع القوى المنحبسة، تعذّب الذهن حتى تنصرف بالعمل، أيّ التصريح بالفكرة ".
