A Room with a View is a novel by English writer E. M. Forster, about a young woman in the restrained culture of Edwardian era England. Set in Italy and England, the story is both a romance and a critique of English society at the beginning of the 20th century. The first part of the novel is set in Florence, Italy, and describes a young English woman's first visit to Florence, at a time when upper middle class English women were starting to lead independent, adventurous lives.

This collection of short stories from E. M. Forster contains six tales that were initially written between 1903 and 1912. When the Wilcox family moves to London and discover they are living close to their new acquaintances the Schlegels, a friendship is kindled between the infirm Ruth Wilcox and Margaret Schlegel. Ruth - who has a strong attachment to her country house called Howards End - pens a note leaving the house to Margaret.

The Celestial Omnibus and Other Stories is a collection of short-stories which Forster wrote during the prewar years, most of which were symbolic fantasies or fables.

The story - one of Forster's darkest tales - revolves around a trip to India by British schoolmistress Adela Quested and her companion, Mrs. Moore. After meeting with a local physician, Dr. Aziz, the two visitors travel with him on a tour of the famous Marabar Caves. While exploring a dark cave alone, Adela is forced to fend off a mysterious attacker and Dr. Aziz - who became separated from the party - is accused of assault.

Lucy Honeychurch, an upper middle class girl, and her cousin, Charlotte, travel from England to Italy on vacation. While on the trip, the two women share a guest house with a man and his son George Emmerson. After switching rooms to offer the women a better view overlooking the scenic river, the Emmersons and Honeychurches get to know each other better. Mr. Emmerson suggests that Lucy and George may be a good match for each other.

Aspects of the Novel is compiled from a series of lectures delivered in 1927 by E. M. Forster at Trinity College, Cambridge, in which he discussed the English language novel. By using examples from classic texts, he explores the seven universal aspects of the novel: story, characters, plot, fantasy, prophecy, pattern, and rhythm.
