Juliette can't seem to shake the gloom that has been following her around with the death of a friend - one Juliette herself murdered - and her boyfriend barely speaking to her, the only thing she has to look forward to is a visit from her bff, Callie. Things start looking up after Callie arrives. Luca forgives her and the case she and Samuel have for the month seems easy. In the end they find him, but discover they’ve left Isa in even more danger…

Ruby is tired of waiting. Now that she and Damon made up, it’s more important than ever that she get rid of her dragon form before Damon manages to secure one. The sealing would connect her to the dragon world forever, and she needs a clean break. Sid has decided to go after the queen and worry about the babies afterward, so Ruby goes on her own.

With Pierre dead, the guardians are in chaos. Several rise to take his place as leader, but Isa doesn’t trust any of them. She tries to force Drew into the role, but behind the scenes, they refuse to listen to him. Liam needs to leave to hunt down the wizard, but there is no way he’s leaving Isa in the hands of the enemy. He mutinies and brings Drew and a few others with him.

Damon is an idiot. He never should’ve gone home and gotten trapped by his mother. If he hadn’t, he’d be with Ruby and she never would’ve gotten caught. Now, Sid is sending a team after her and Damon isn’t about to be left behind.

She should tell Isa. Liam and Drew are about to go out and fight the wizard and Grace knows they have no chance again him. Wizards can only be defeated by other wizards. But if she tells Isa she risks Isa getting angry and throwing her out—or worse, killing her. Will she tell Isa and risk her own life, or will she keep it a secret and risk the lives of Drew and Liam?

But Liam still isn’t convinced that the guardians have Isa’s best interest at heart and not only that, Isa doesn’t want him as a guardian and he doesn’t want to do anything that would anger her. In the end Pierre convinces him that Isa’s very life is on the line if he doesn’t join.

But nothing is working and the attacks on those in the castle are getting worse—distracting Liam. It’s not until Isa is attacked that he finally manages to seal himself to her, but will she survive?

Sid is tired of being caught in the middle a war with enemies he doesn’t understand. After Jens kills one of his warriors, Sid puts all of his efforts into finding him, but his council revolts and says they are going to attack the castle. Sid has to decide, chase after Jens or do what he can to protect Liam?
