The Gospel of Luke was not written by one of Jesus' disciples but rather by a physician by the same name. Due to his profession, Luke has a distinctly human aspect to his writing, which contains greater details of the people whom Jesus interacted with, particularly the sinners. Jesus' entire life is depicted in these passages and portrays the Messiah not as an untouchable figure of greatness but as the more attainable and relatable Son of Man.

It’s not often that you come across a document of such religious and historical importance as The Septuagint Genesis – in fact its significance would be hard to overstate. But what is the Septuagint? Well, its name refers to the “seventy’ (actually 72) translators – six from each tribe of Israel – who translated the Hebrew Scriptures into Greek, the primary language of Jews in Egypt at the time. This, the oldest and arguably most important translation, was the version of The Bible that Jesus himself would have read – and the one from which almost all the New Testament’s writers were quoting.

The Life of Adam and Eve, (also known in its Greek version as the Apocalypse of Moses), is a significant Jewish apocryphal writing that tells in colourful detail the fate of Adam and Eve after their expulsion from the Garden of Eden. It provides more detail about the Fall of Man, in which Satan explains that he rebelled when God commanded him to bow down to Adam.

It tells the story of persecution of the Jews under Pharaoh Ptolemy IV Philopater (222–205 BC) whose plans to annihilate the Jews in Egypt are thwarted by God. This was some decades before the Maccabee uprising in Judea, as chronicled in 1 and 2 Maccabees.

"The Confession of Pontius Pilate" is a fascinating dramatic dialogue between Pontius Pilate and his close friend Fabricius in which he recounts, from his perspective, the events surrounding the trial, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Whether the author was Fabricius himself, or it was written by an unknown author at a later date, the story sticks closely to the biblical narrative while providing additional insights into the internal conflicts of Pontius Pilate over his role in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ that led to his eventual suicide.

In these chapters, Paul gives Timothy instructions for the growing churches so that he might be prepared to succeed Paul as leader of the Christian faith. The epistle of 2 John confronts the issue of false teachers infiltrating the Christian church and spreading doctrines that did not coincide with true Christian teachings. Only one chapter long, Philemon is an epistle written by Paul to exhort a slave owner to forgive his runaway slave, Onesimus. As a close friend of Philemon, Paul encourages him to no longer see Onesimus as a slave but as a fellow brother in Christ, whose forgiveness should be emulated by all his followers.

The shortest book in the New Testament, the book of 3 John is only one page long and was written by the Apostle John during his exile on Patmos. This epistle uses an example of a false teacher to illustrate the importance of staying faithful to Jesus and his sincere followers.

The final book of the Bible, Revelation was written by the Apostle John during his exile to the Isle of Patmos. This book contains the clearest prophecies about the second coming of Jesus in the Bible and predicts both the judgment to come upon the nonbelievers in the Tribulation and the infinite rewards for the true Christians.
