Tales of the Jazz Age is a collection of short stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald, one of the most well-known Jazz Age writers whose works have stood the test of time. These stories are separated into several themes, ranging from the fantastical to the more realistic.

Amory Blaine has been brought up by a wealthy, idiosyncratic, and alcoholic mother. Snobbish because he knows no better, he is uncomfortable with others and must learn the proper social etiquette and values embraced by his peers. As he progresses to Princeton University from the Midwest, he flirts with some predatory young women and chances friendship with some intellectual young men. Will he find happiness, or will his life be forever burdened by his ineptitude this side of paradise?

This 1920’s classic is Fitzgerald’s debut novel, and follows the story of Amory Blaine, a Princeton University student who, in his relentless pursuit of wealth, status, and love, lets his greed take him down a dark path to ruin. After dabbling in literature and serving in WWI, Amory finds himself infatuated by Rosalind Connage, but as his finances crumble around him and everything he thought he had is lost, he ends up homeless and in ruin.

In this series we explore the many facets of love through literary talents that span both time and country. When two people meet, when eyes glance and lock. The Great Gatsby is a book by American writer F. Scott Fitzgerald. The story is told by Nick Carraway, a man who moves to Long Island, New York, from the Midwest. The area that they live in is called eggs, due to the oval shaped houses in the region. There are two 'eggs' West Egg and East Egg. The 'old rich' live in East Egg, while the 'New Rich' reside in West Egg. Nick lives in a small house in West Egg. Nick's next-door neighbor is Jay Gatsby. Jay is in love with Nick's cousin, Daisy. But, Daisy is married to a man named Tom. The novel is about Jay and his hope that he can steal Daisy from Tom.

The Fitzgeralds went to France in the spring of 1924 to get away from all the hubbub, and he wrote his masterpiece The Great Gatsby during the summer and autumn in Valescure near St. Raphael, France. His fourth novel, Tender Is the Night, received a poor critical reaction when it came out in 1934. Fitzgerald was eventually forced to try to earn a living as a screenwriter. He died in December 1940 in Hollywood while working on The Last Tycoon.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button tells the tale of Benjamin, son of Roger Button, who was born as an old man and who, over the course of his life, miraculously ages backward. Beginning life as an octogenarian in his crib, Benjamin grows "older" while his body, conversely, appears younger and younger with each passing birthday. The story takes us through Benjamin's entire life: his difficult adolescence, his marriage, life as a soldier and father, and, ultimately, his inevitable descent into infanthood.

The year is 1922, and young Nick Carraway moves to the village of West Egg, where he discovers that his neighbor is the eclectic millionaire Jay Gatsby. As he and Gatsby become acquainted, Nick is thrown into a world full of dazzling parties, unrequited love, and unchecked idealism. Gatsby, surrounded by riches, yearns for the love of a woman who chose another man. He waits for her every night, using a green light at the end of his dock to call out to her from across the water.

F. Scott Fitzgerald published this captivating short story in 1926, a year after The Great Gatsby. One of his most famous short stories, Fitzgerald wrote “The Rich Boy” about one of his friends in the guise of a wealthy, old-money protagonist, Anson Hunter, and the effects of wealth on his character and thus with women, love, and life. It originally appeared in two parts, in the January and February 1926 issues of Redbook. “The Rich Boy” is a masterpiece of twentieth-century American fiction.
