Soul Hate

Renza di Maineri is the youngest elected leader her city has ever seen. Devoted to the citizens of Halice, she is determined to prove herself and finally step beyond her father’s shadow. The Holy States have excommunicated Halice and recalled its Holy Servants, and blocked trade to the wounded city. Renza Di Maneri and her fellow members of the High Chamber are running out of time and have few good options. So when Renza’s Soulhate, Idris Patricelli, suggests inviting mercenaries behind the city walls, in a bid to secure protection against Halice’s righteous foe, she is forced to agree. But the mercenaries bring death into the High Chamber, and their presence exposes a spy in Halice’s ranks, the city's future plunges further into unrest.
