I love Carian Cole’s writing and I’ve had this series on my TBR forever. I’m happy I finally got to it! Lukas is dreamy and swoon-worthy in every way- maybe a little too put together, idk… it’s hard to fully get into a story and characters when the drama part is one sided. Plus I felt like some parts where the time jumped to leave out so much vital parts to their relationship.
I love that he could be that person for Ivy

if only all men where like Lucas, he's definitely my favourite of the Ashes and Embers crew so far, with his gigantic heart. this is a reverse age gap romance and is well written and expertly performed. it was sad going back to a time to when Katy was still with us but necessary to show how deeply Lucas loved her and his brother. I hope Vandal and Tabie have a family of their own one day. Lucas has so much love to give and I'm glad he and Ivy found their fairytale. A thoroughly enjoyable book, I'm going straight into the next one in the series.

Let me start by saying I really enjoyed this book. Sexy and sweet. And also a modern fairytale vibe! However, as a Mom myself….that business with the daughter was a stretch. Otherwise a very enjoyable story.

It's not often I find romance novels with an older woman. She's 36 to his 24. But what a 24! more mature, more alpha more sensitive and understanding than most men.
Carian Cole writes well and the story was exciting with lots of interesting tiny details like the talking bird. She keeps the focus tight on the couple but with enough from others in the family to make me want to read the rest of the series.
But the best thing in this audiobook was the narrators. really, top notch. Great voices, great performance. This is the way to do it. I'll be looking for more by those two narrators

Lukas and Evie makes a beautiful couple and Nelson Hobbs is perfect as Lucas.
The woman was really good as Evie.

I have listened to this book twice. Seconed time after finishing all other books in the Grace/Valentine series + no tomorrow.

Absolutely adore Lukas. What an amazing man, the peacemaker in the family, so loving and caring. Him and Ivy are so right for each other😍

I loved this one - my fave of the series, closely followed by Storm! Lukas is dreamy and Ivy was lucky to find such a find after her douche husband!

The only thing about the series that I find odd is they are all within the same time frame, so we have to go through the tragedy of Katie every time, but I suppose this is because each book is a standalone.

I loved Ray, the Raven and the narration was perfection!
