Abdullah ibn Khalid ibn Salah ad-Deen Al-Hajjar al-Dimashqi Al-Quraishi al-Husseini Abdullah Al-Hajjar was born into a devout religious family, immersing himself from an early age in the foundational teachings of Islam. His initial studies focused on Islamic jurisprudence within the Shafi'i school of thought (fiqh), coupled with an understanding of creed (aqeedah) aligned with Ash'arite theology and the spiritual practices of Sufism. As he grew and deepened his knowledge, Abdullah adopted the Athari creed, emphasizing a return to the teachings of the early generations of Muslims. He embraced a combination of Shafi'i and Hanbali jurisprudence, moving away from his earlier Sufi practices. Despite his extensive learning, he felt a void a missing aspect in his spiritual journey. Realizing the profound need for spirituality rooted directly in the Quran (Kitab) and the Sunnah (the teachings and practices of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him), Abdullah redirected his focus. He returned to a path of spirituality based on these primary sources, seeking a deeper connection with his faith. As a dedicated student, Abdullah continues to pursue knowledge and spiritual fulfillment. His journey reflects a commitment to harmonizing traditional Islamic scholarship with an inner quest for true understanding and closeness to Allah.
