Amy Nordhues is a survivor of both childhood sexual abuse and sexual abuse as an adult at the hands of a mental health professional/church elder. She has a BA in psychology with minors in sociology and criminology. Her award-winning memoir, Prayed Upon: Breaking Free from Therapist Abuse, was released in October 2021. She uses her experiences to advocate for adult victims of therapist and clergy abuse and has done numerous radio and podcast interviews on the subject. Additionally, she has presented at the 2022 Oklahoma Counseling Association Conference, the 2023 Crimes Committed Against Women Conference, and the 2025 Survivors Network for those Abused by Priests (SNAP) Conference. A married mother of three, she enjoys spending time with family, writing, reading, photography, and all things comedy.
