Dennis Foley retired from the army as a lieutenant colonel after several tours in Southeast Asia. He served as a Long Range Patrol platoon leader, an Airborne Infantry company commander, a Ranger company commander, and a Special Forces "A" Detachment commander. He holds two Silver Stars, four Bronze Stars, and two Purple Hearts. He is a member of the Writers Guild and the Authors Guild.
