Dr Chloe Paidoussis-Mitchell is a UK-based Chartered Counselling Psychologist and the author of "The Loss Prescription: A Practical Roadmap to Grief Recovery" (published by Harper Collins). She is Greek/British born, a mother of 2 teenagers, and splits her time between Athens, London and Sussex. She is passionate about helping people heal themselves amidst the grip of trauma and loss - holistically. In her latest book, she reflects on her own losses as well many other losses she has encountered in thousands of hours of therapy, and deconstructs what has helped her and her clients rebalance their mental and physical wellbeing, what has enabled them to embrace life with meaningful self-care, loving connections and hope. Dr Chloe believes that there is a huge difference between transient happiness and authentic happiness, and invites her readers/listeners to tune in to their internal world, to nurture themselves mentally, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. She encourages her readers/listeners and clients to rebalance themselves with self-compassion, reflective self-care, mindful regulation of a dysregulated nervous system and authentic love for themselves, their loved ones, and the world. Professionally Dr Chloe is a long-standing Lecturer at The Existential Academy and at The New School of Psychotherapy & Counselling in London and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society with more than 20 years of clinical expertise in Mental Health, Trauma, Loss and Grief. She is the founder of The Clinic in London, and offers both clinical supervision to clinicians and supervises a number of Phd candidates researching Grief. In the pursuit of sharing good ideas for Mental Wellbeing, she regularly consults in the Corporate World, delivering webinars/workships to raise awareness about Grief & Grieving in the workplace. She is the author of a number of articles on mental health & grief and has appeared on CNN, BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show and on a number podcasts, as well as in print for Huffington Post, Daily Telegraph & The Guardian discussing Mental ill Health and Grief. In 2022 she was invited to lead a Guardian Masterclass on “How to cope with grief and loss.” She has been a visiting lecturer for a number of psychology programmes, including Cambridge University Executive MBA teaching Mental Fitness and Resilience for Mental Health & Wellbeing. Dr Chloe is passionate about democratising therapy and bringing people together to support each other, and share in the humanity of loss.
