Elizabeth Jacks Scott (1940 - )also known as Rev. Betsy, was born in Chicago, Illinois, her mother, the daughter of Canadian Baptist; Missionaries to the Telugu people of South India, and her father, the son of farmers from Western Iowa, later the Presiding Judge of the Divorce courts of Cook County, Illinois. She is a graduate of Vassar College and the University of Chicago and taught American History. In midlife after becoming widowed, she went back to school and earned an M.Div from Union Theological Seminary and an MSW from Hunter College School of Social Work and practiced as a psychotherapist for over two decades. Realizing she needed something more in her life, she travelled extensively to India and enrolled in the One Spirit Interfaith Seminary becoming an ordained Interfaith Minister. She lives with her husband in New York City, the Hudson Valley and the coast of Maine.
