In her first career, Margie Benedict was an engineer working at Apple Computer, where she wrote the text-editing software for the first color Mac. She also created the jigsaw puzzle desk accessory, bundled with the Mac for many years. But she always had a dream to be an author, and deciding that money isn’t everything, she left Apple and began writing screenplays. Five were produced and screened at major film festivals across the U.S. Her script Dead in the Room won the Slamdance Screenwriting Competition and was made into an award-winning film starring Patrick J. Adams (of the TV show Suits fame). She transitioned to novels with the publication of her award-winning middle-grade fantasy series, The Thieves of Magic Trilogy. Her body of work now also includes the Before series of time-travel mysteries for adults, three standalone scifi/fantasy novels, and The Trials—the first volume in a new dystopian series. Margie currently resides in Boston’s South Shore with her amazing husband Brian—who anyone would be lucky to have on their team in an apocalypse—and their loyal hound Winston. They love traveling, particularly to visit their blended family of six adult children, who are spread across the U.S.
