Most of his books have been in the action-espionage-suspense genre (Flowers From Berlin, Return to Berlin, Truman's Spy, Murder in Miami, Hostage in Havana, Conspiracy in Kiev, Midnight in Madrid, Countdown in Cairo, The Enemy Within) but others (Ghosts, The Prodigy, A Room For The Dead and Cemetery of Angels) were highly acclaimed ghost stories. All the ghost stories were Literary Guild selections. Sales in the horror/psychological terror genre have totaled more than a million copies. A Room For The Dead appeared on the USA TODAY Best Seller list. The original English language editions were published by the major New York houses, Doubleday, Dial, Bantam, Kensington, Pinnacle, HarperCollins and Tor, and by New English Library and W H Allen in London. Noel Hynd's newest spy thrillers are BETRAYAL IN BERLIN (2022), JUDGMENT IN BERLIN (2021), EISENHOWER'S SPY (2020) RETURN TO BERLIN (2019) and FIREBIRD published in October 2017. The former story revolved around the 1968 Presidential election in the United States as well as covert Soviet-American intrigue at the forefront. BETRAYAL IN BERLIN, RETURN TO BERLIN and JUDGMENT IN BERLIN are sequels to Mr. Hynd's million-selling FLOWERS FROM BERLIN. The 'Berlin' series is ongoing, a blend of espionage fiction and historical fiction. REVOLT IN BERLIN, Part One, will appear in winter of 2023-24 and Part Two will appear in the summer of 2023. TRUMAN'S SPY and EISENHOWER'S SPY are also part of a "Presidential" Spy series that will continue through the Nixon Administration. KENNEDY'S SPY will appear in the summer of 2023. In the 1970's and 1980's Mr. Hynd was also a true crime writer for OFFICIAL DETECTIVE, MASTER DETECTIVE AND TRUE DETECTIVE. At the same time he was a stringer in New York City for a Scandinavian press service that published an influential crime magazine named KRIMINALJOURNALEN in Norway and Sweden. Over fifteen years for these two markets in the US and Europe, he contributed more than 500 published articles on all aspects of crime. The Kindle editions of Midnight in Madrid and Conspiracy in Kiev were simultaneously NUMBERS ONE and NUMBER TWO among all books on Amazon's Kindle Best Seller lists in December 2009. Both titles were also among the top selling Kindle books of the year, numbers 2 and 17, respectively. Along with his wife, Patricia White, Mr. Hynd is also the co-founder of Red Cat Tales, LLC, an independent publishing imprint in Los Angeles. Red Cat Tales publishes genre fiction (including much of Mr. Hynd's back-list) and graphic novels in translation. In 2017, Red Cat Tales LLC published ASHES FROM A BURNING CORPSE by Noel Hynd, his 24th published book. ASHES is a fact-based noir novel set in 1943 and based around the investigation by his late father, Alan Hynd, into the murder of Sir Harry Oakes in the Bahamas, a case that remains both notorious and officially unsolved. In 2021, RCT published THE SUMMER OF CHARLIE PONZI, the second in a series of three to six noir novels based on his late father's real life investigations. Included also will be an edition involving the kidnapping of Charles Lindbergh's son. Alan Hynd (1903 - 1974) was a noted true crime author of the 1930's, 40's, 50's and 60s who wrote for the influential newspapers and magazines of the era. He was a noted worldwide authority on murderers, gangsters and confidence men. He wrote more than a dozen books, including two NY TIMES Best Sellers (Passport to Treason, Betrayal From The East) during World War Two. Mr. Hynd's most recent supernatural novel, TWENTY FLOWERS OF EVIL, was published in March of 2019. It is a ghost story set in Paris of the 1920's, revolving around a young female artist who comes under spiritual the influence of the dark innovative poet, Charles Baudelaire, who by the 1920's had been dead for half a century. Noel Hynd is also a former contributor to Sports Illustrated and several other national magazines. His 1988 non-fiction book, The Giants of The Polo Grounds, was an Editor's Choice of The New York TIMES Review of Books in 1988. The book was also a nominee for Best Book of The Year by Spitball Magazine. In 2019, he also published "The Last Game At Ebbets Field," a collection of non-fiction baseball stories. The book was awarded SABR's Ron Gabriel Award for the best new book of the year on the Brooklyn Dodgers. Most recently The Sputnik Season: 1957 (2022) found its way to Number One on the Amazon Kindle 'Baseball History' list. Mr. Hynd has also written several produced screenplays, including AGENCY a crime/espionage drama starring Robert Mitchum, Lee Majors and Valerie Perrine and ILLEGAL IN BLUE, a noir police thriller, starring Stacy Dash. Mr. Hynd was born in New York City. He studied in the United States and Switzerland. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and lives in southern California between Los Angeles and San Diego with his wife Patricia. Other recent projects also include translations and adaptations (from French and Spanish) of several best selling comics and graphic novels from distinguished authors and illustrators in from Europe and South America. Included are 'Djinn' by Jean Dufaux (Belgium) and Ana Miralles (Spain). Under contract with Les Editions Dargaud, Paris, Mr. Hynd translated the entire 13-volume series 'Djinn' into English from French. He also wrote an English language novelization of the first four volumes of the series. Publishing arrangements are in progress.
