Hi, I’m from Melbourne, Australia. Here on my Author's page, you'll see some photos of where I worked with a shearing team many years ago. My time shearing and jackerooing inspired the descriptions in my first book Sutherland Downs. In the 1970s, when I was around eleven years old, my parents moved us from Melbourne onto a farm on the edge of the Snowy Mountains in NSW. It was one of the most exciting times of my life as the new sheep, cattle and farm machinery arrived, and I learnt to ride a horse. After returning from Agricultural college, I learned to shear and travelled as a wool presser with a shearing team to Northern New South Wales. As a jackeroo, I spent a few years in NSW working with cattle and goats, and six months on a cattle stud in Western Australia. There are hints of some of the many colourful characters I have met along the way in Sutherland Downs. Over the last 30 years, I've worked in corporate roles in the construction industry and met many fascinating people in this time. From the time I was young, I loved to write stories and speeches, trying to make them fun and funny. Although I am writing in the Romantic Suspense genre, I loved to weave humour into my stories, making my characters real, heroic, vulnerable and silly - in other words, human. I started writing my first book, Sutherland Downs, many years ago, often on the train after work during an hour-long commute. I published my second book, MacLeod's Manor, in July 2021, preceded by a short story about the same family, The Curse of MacLeod’s Manor. MacLeod’s Manor is set in both Melbourne and the Scottish Highlands. My wife and I travelled through the Scottish Highlands several years ago, and I can’t wait until I can go back again. Hope you enjoy my books. Peter
