Rich King was born in Madison, Wisconsin in the late '70s. During high school, he had written his very first 1000 plus page novel. It was called "A Camping Fiasco" however, it was shelved for almost 25 years. Without pursuing a publisher and intermittent edits throughout the years, the notebook of words withered on that shelf. In 1996, he graduated--with a nearly 4.0 GPA, making the Dean's List. Latent, covered in dust, "A Camping Fiasco" was an afterthought in his mind as he tried to understand his position in life; what was he to become? Author, Actor, Architect, Electrician, or Army came to mind. After the summer season working for his uncle doing landscape, he eventually joined the Wisconsin Army National Guard (as a weekend warrior) and attended college (full time). After a couple of years of college, classmates ended up in the parking lot all too often--and more often than not. One dastardly student had conjured up bomb threats all because he didn't want to take an exam or attend the lectures, thwarting any normalcy in routine, this crumpled Rich's atmosphere. By the time he got back to classes, the instructors tossed material at him, playing lickety-split with the clock. His learning objective was crushed, paid for instruction reduced to fit a time crunch, he decided to join the army full time ever since. Three tours overseas and twenty-one years later, he retired, meanwhile giving him a heightened outlook on life. In much of his downtime, he edited his novel. To this day, he is still working for our nation's veterans with the Department of Veterans Affairs, and in his off time writing novels. Check out his very first novel "Watches" formerly known as "A Camping Fiasco;" you won't be able to put it down.
