A.J. and his friends are having a sleepover in the playground by Ella Mentry School. There’s a campfire with plenty of yummy marshmallows, weird songs, and twinkling stars—what could be better? After a trip to HorrorLand, Meg and her brother, Chris, can't wait to celebrate Halloween. Until that Weirdo in the baby alien costume shows up and begins to wreak havoc on their lives. They just can't seem to get him to leave. And Meg's beginning to suspect that his orange skin isn't a Halloween disguise...What happens in the world's scariest theme park on the most frightening day of the year?

Traveling from Shriekport, Maine, the gang heads to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, California, picking up some hair-raising new friends along the way. Get in, Medusa!! The friends set off to confront the evil villain, Doctor Gargo, who has unleashed reanimated monsters from Grandpa's basement throughout the country. Along their journey, they encounter a terrifying series of monsters, including the Hoboken Werewolf, a tornado with a face, and even a giant Space Blob!
