About this listen

Gina Moss is single and proud. She's focused on her thriving childminding business, which she runs from her cottage at the edge of The Evergreens: a charming Victorian home to three elderly residents who adore playing with the kids Gina minds. To Gina, they all feel like family.

Then a run-in (literally) with a tall, handsome American stranger gives her the tummy-flutters.... Before a tragedy puts her older friends at risk of eviction - and Gina in charge of the battle to save them. The house sale brings her closer to Dexter, one of the owners - and the stranger who set her heart alight.

As the sparks fly between them, Gina carries on fighting for her friends, her home and her business. But can she fight for her chance at love - and win it all, too?

A Patchwork Family was originally published as a four-part serial. This is the complete story in one package.

cosy, engaging, delightful

not my normal genre but the storyline caught my attention and I'm delighted I gave it a chance.
The narrator is perfect, and the story has unexpected twists which kept my interest.
Yes its sweet and in a few places predictable, but it kept my attention and produced a lovely feel good sensation at the end.
I will certainly be checking out the other titles by this author!

Fantastic. The best of Cathy’s books so far!

I really didn’t want this story to end. I hope there’s a sequel! There are already two books before this, the Plumberry School of Comfort Food and then The Lemon Tree Cafe. I happily listened to them in the right order by accident!

It’s such a different plot line with inter generational mixing which really appealed to me. I loved the characters of Gina and the children. I’ve read quite a few of Cathy’s books and this is the top one so far, loved it so much.

Absolutely amazing book

Love love loved it, it was great from beginning to end, all the character in the book are fantastic, and play a huge part into why this story is so good, I’d say this is up there with one of Cathy Bramley’s best.

Just lovely

Ah, you won't be disappointed if you listen to this book. A lovely story, well written and well read.

I hope there is a sequel because I'd love to know what happens to all the characters and The Evergreens

Wow!

Well, what can I say? What a story. I was drawn straight in which has not happened with me often and I loved every single moment of it.

I absolutely adored Gina and wanted to be her friend and was rooting for her every step of the way. All other characters were so lovely too (apart from some minor ones) and I loved revisiting some of the ones from Cathy’s other books. Barnaby is set so beautifully and always reminds me of a beautiful little village I visited in Derbyshire with its rolling hills, beautiful stonework and quaint style.

Colleen Prendergast has a lovely, soothing voice and is absolutely amazing at the accents. My favourite was definitely ‘Una’s’ soft Irish lilt. Perfect.

I listened to My Kind Of Happy before this book and knew as soon as Gina was mentioned and a bit of her back story, I had to listen to this and I was so pleasantly surprised!

Thank you Cathy for such a heartwarming listen! X
