About this listen
Ellie
Lincoln Alexander might think he’s too old for me, but he’s wrong. A fourteen-year age gap is nothing when you’re desperate to feel alive again.
The wealthy business owner has only ever seen me as off limits, but he has the power to put me back together—to chase away my demons with just his touch.
So, for one intense night, without him knowing who I am, I put my trust and pleasure in his hands.
My plan is to walk away, ready to move forward with my life, but when the doctor tells me that I’m pregnant, I find myself taking two steps back.
Lincoln
One night isn’t enough with the masked, green-eyed woman who walked into my club and turned my world upside down.
After I gave her what she wanted, again and again, she walked away without a trace.
When I finally discover the identity of the mysterious beauty who stole my heart on Valentine’s Day—and the secret she’s been keeping—my heart stops.
Ellie Bardot is all grown up, but I remember the innocent girl she was, even if she doesn’t. I hate that she lied to me, almost as much as I hate that I still want her.
Now I’m torn between being the man she needs me to be and doing the right thing.

So Worth the Risk! Excellent Story & Narration🎧
After listening to and loving the first book of this series, “The Risk of Falling,” I was looking forward to Ellie Bardot’s story and was hoping Lincoln Alexander would be a major player in her story. And Nikki Ash does not disappoint, but she delivers a story that not only captivated my attention the entire time but tugged on my heartstrings too. I highly recommend reading or better yet, listening to the first book before starting this one, it is will add depth, and it is beneficial to know the character’s backstories and to be in on the world building from the beginning. Sienna Bardot did her best to raise her younger sister Ellie and to protect her from all the evil in the world. But Ellie got herself into her own trouble and it cost her more than she ever let on because she did not want to let anyone know what really happened to her, especially her sister, who would feel guilty for not protecting her. Ellie gave up her dream school to go to one on the west coast, to be as far away as she could, but she did not give up her dream of dancing. Being away did not help with her anxiety or PTSD, but she came up with a plan to tackle it by going to the one person she always felt a connection with, the one she had a crush on since she her teenage years, Lincoln. Lincoln is her brother-in-law’s brother, and she goes to the Wanderlust, the club he manages on Valentine’s day with plans to seduce him during a masked event. Her plan goes off without a hitch, and she found out she left an everlasting impression on Lincoln, one that has him changing his stance on commitments. When Ellie learned he was searching for the mystery woman, she figured she would go back to NY and come clean with him, but then the unexpected happens, she is pregnant. Sienna was missing her sister, so Micah went to speak to her and winds up bringing her back to New York. There is never a dull moment in this off limits age gap romantic suspense, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. The drama is non-stop and there is angst, mystery, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Nikki Ash, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fantastic narration, Lexi Evans and Gregory Salinas were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying. Their character voices were fitting, and they were believable in every role. Evans nailed it as Ellie, grasping every aspect of her personality, from her vulnerabilities to her strength and determination. Salinas did the same for Lincoln, from his caring side to his swoon worthy protective side. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and their performance elevated this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Ellie and Lincoln!
Ellie has endured so much at a time that she most vulnerable but rather than accepting support from those she loved she felt she needed to distance herself from them. She tries to move forward with her life but trust is difficult, so she decides that spending one night with the one man who had always made her feel safe and protected is what she needs but finding out she is pregnant because of it was a surprise she didn’t see coming.
Lincoln is not only more than a decade older than Ellie, but she also happens to be her sister-in-law. He didn’t realize that the woman he spent an unforgettable night with is the girl he used to know until his brother brings her home and he finds out he is about to be a father and that is only one of the challenges that they are about to face.
Lincoln and Ellie’s story is everything you could want and so much more. When you combine the forbidden aspect , the family ties, the suspense and the love that was undeniable their journey will captivate you and have you wishing it would never end. The narrators did a great job with the characters as well as the intrigue and angst of this story. 🎧 Pink Flamingo Productions

A poignant story of risk and love
Lexi Evans and Gregory Salinas narrate this audiobook. Their compelling portrayal of Ellie and Lincoln, set against a backdrop of romantic suspense, brought depth and emotion to the story. The age gap and Ellie's secretive past, coupled with Lincoln's shock upon uncovering their connection, were rendered with such authenticity that I felt every twist and turn. Evans and Salinas skillfully navigated the intense emotions and complex dynamics, making the characters' journey from a single night's encounter to the unforeseen consequences genuinely immersive. This audiobook, with its intricate blend of suspense, romance, and a quest for healing, proved to be an engrossing listen, showcasing the narrators' ability to bring a poignant story of risk and love vividly to life.

Suspenseful and beautiful
What an amazing intense story! I absolutely loved Elli’s & Lincoln’s story. It was full of so much emotion, frustration, sadness, friendship & healing.
Ellie has a hard road ahead, she has a lot of healing that needs to happen, and along the way Lincoln is is once again her safe space.
Their relationship was a bit of a slow burn, a touch of taboo, so much chemistry, and an abundance of friendship.
I absolutely loved this story, I cried a few times, it was filled with so much love and healing.

Age Gap and Secret Pregnancy? Yes Please!!!
I absolutely loved the first book in this series so I was so excited to dive right in to this book which is Ellie and Lincoln's story. Ellie had a crush on Lincoln as a teenager when she would go to her sister's work and hang out while sister was working and Lincoln would watch out for her and hang out with her. Her life has always been challenging but she had her sister and she worked hard in school. She endured way more trauma than any one person should ever have to face, but she made it through. Unfortunately due to everything she has been through, relationships are a struggle.
Lincoln and Ellie end up sharing a steamy night together that for a variety of reasons changes everything for them. This story was an adventure to listen to. It evoked so many emotions throughout the course of the book. The narration was fantastic and while Lincoln and Ellie's relationship started off very unorthodox, I loved that Ellie and Lincoln ended up together. She deserved so much love and to be someone who would love and protect her. Both Lexi Evans and Gregory Salinas did a wonderful job bringing this story to life and I would highly recommend them both.
This author continues to hook me in with her story lines. I highly enjoy her writing style and the characters she creates and I always find myself never wanting the stories to end and A Risk Worth Taking was no exception. PinkFlamingoProductions TheFlockVIPReviewTeam

Age-gap romantic suspense! It doesn't get better!
A Risk Worth Taking
Falling in Love, Book 2
By: Nikki Ash
Narrated by: Lexi Evans, Gregory Salinas
So many feels in this book, I could not stop listening. Nikki Ash had Lincoln and Ellie worming their way into my heart from the first chapter. Ellie had a traumatic childhood, leaving her scarred. Her sister is now happily married, and Ellie is going to take control of her life and put a new memory in place of one from her past. Little did Lincoln know that she was going to use him, with her mask on to help her with it. Lincoln is 14 years older than Ellie, and while attracted to her, has no intention of acting on it. The age gap and the fact that she is his brother's sister-in-law has him always looking at her like a sister. But after that night of passion, he can't get her out of his mind. If only he knew it was her. Now she has something that will change his life, and once he comes to terms with it, he is on a mission. Will this risk be worth taking? I loved Lincoln and Ellie from the start. I could feel their connection and when the future started to mold for them, I just crossed my fingers and hoped! It's a wonderful story of grumpy sunshine, and a chance at true love. I was captivated and loved the thread of suspense showing Lincoln's alpha possessiveness! Grab this series, it's worth it!
Lexi Evans and Gregory Salinas are the story tellers and boy do they tell a story. Evans has all the emotions pouring out of her as Ellie. From her childhood to finding her independence, she finds each facet of her and uses her voice as strengthens and grows. Salinas is a favorite, and he pulls out all the alpha feels as Lincoln. The grumpy man finds his way through nuances and inflections bringing out all the emotions. Loved this team and their performance.
