About this listen

In the aftermath of the destruction, Shaun finds himself trapped by the winter.

With little other choice, he joins a group of survivors doing the best they can. His idea of "best" isn’t always shared by the group, though. But before the weather breaks, when he wants to resume his journey, they all face conflict.

Miles away, doing the best that she can, Abbie is adapting to life without power; her own situation is far from ideal.

This series is really good! Love an end of the world tale that follows how real people act and survive. Pretty scary to think that humanity is its own apex predator.

Enjoyed the story and the performance. The only thing that erked my very slightly was the narrator mispronouncing lieutenant. Yanks say ‘loo’tenant’ Brits pronounce it ‘left’tenant’. But otherwise a great performance and story.

Great, credible dialogue and just a bit of a plot hole (why nuke a country that’s unable to do anything?) with some dastardly villains and good, flawed heroes. Above all, though, the narrator is awesome!

A fabulous 2nd installment of this series. The characters are so believable and real, the storyline raw and real! I cannot wait for book 3!

Getting a lot more grittier and also more nail bitting, and some of the characters you want to slap as they are so annoying and pityfull but main characters are brilliant looking forward to the next 1

Enjoyed it and first book but can’t understand why narrator uses US pronunciation of lieutenant. Only minor and very picky of me I know but hey. Otherwise I’m very invested in this series
