About this listen
He’s a grumpy single dad. She’s the one who got away. They haven’t seen one another in years, and now they’re stuck in a hotel room together. And there’s only one bed.
I’ve loved her from the first moment I saw her.
And I’ve loved her every day since.
Whether we’re together or we’re apart—that hasn’t changed.
Which is saying a lot considering I don’t like most people.
But life has thrown us a slew of curveballs and we went our separate ways.
Life, family, jealousy—we let it all get in the way.
I’m a dad now, and my little girl is my world.
And after years apart, Presley is back in Cottonwood Cove.
I don’t believe in fairytales or second chances.
My heart belongs to my daughter now, and there is no room for complications.
Presley Duncan is a giant complication.
A wise man would keep his distance.
But I never claimed to be a wise man.
So maybe we end up in a car together in the middle of a snowstorm.
Which leads to a hotel room with only one bed.
Maybe I should reconsider my stance on fairytales and second chances.
And seeing Presley with my little girl does something to me.
Stirs something inside of me that I thought was long gone.
But I know this is temporary.
She’ll be leaving soon, and I’m prepared to let her go.
Until she’s gone.
And I realize that I’m not prepared at all for life after the storm.

wonderful story, fantastic narration
Finally, Cage’s story and it was fabulous. I love the grumpy man with a heart of gold type of character and since the beginning of this series, I have wanted Cage to get his HEA. Throw in Presley, their banter and snark, they obvious love and affection, even when they were upset with each other, and this was a story I could stop listening to. The family dynamics just added to the fun (as always) and this family will continue to live in my mind as one of my favorite fictional families that I wish could come to life. What a wonderful story only elevated by the narration by Emma Wilder and Jacob Morgan (I mean, can you get a better cast?) A great way to spend a few hours, and a guaranteed smile!

Small town romance at its best!
Laura Pavlov knows what I need to listen to. Each book in this Cottonwood Cove series arrives at the perfect time to let me escape into an amazing small town with fantastic characters. Meet Cage. A single dad with the most adorable daughter, dog and visiting pig. His heart was given away as a teenager and has never again found love. When the owner of his heart comes home to help her dad, life takes a turn. Presley is finalizing her divorce to a man that never had all of her attention. That is reserved for Cage, but would rather put all her time into her career. Now back home, with all the people and all the memories, she begins to evaluate her life. Is her career what makes her happy? Does she miss small town life? And then there is Cage and Gracie. As she stays, and these two rekindle their romance, can she walk away with no hard feelings? Will Cage let her go? I could not put this listen down. Not only is the narration impeccable, but the story captured my heart. From the true soulmates these two are to the sweet, insightful Gracie, this heartwarming story had me from the start. Loved the humor that is infused, the sibling banter, the chance to visit with all the Reynolds family and especially the animals! What a fun, loving listen! It's a great way to end the series!
Jacob Morgan and Emma Wilder knock this narration out of the park. Morgan is Cage, with his big heart, his protectiveness as a dad and his true love on his sleeve. He nails Gracie with all the exuberance a child has. Wilder is Presley. Calm and professional until she's not, she pulls out all the emotional turmoil of a person searching for her happiness. Loved these two together and truly enjoyed this book.

Second Chance Sweetness!
The queen of small town does it again! Just as she has with the rest of the Cottonwood Cove series, Laura Pavlov delivered a delicious, sweet & spicy small town story.
To finish off the Cottonwood Cove series, After the Storm, was the story of the eldest Reynolds sibling, Cage, and his loved and lost gal, Presley. This was filled with all of the tension and longing that a meant-to-be, second chance romance should have. Also throw in that Cage is a swoon-worthy, single dad to his heart of gold, wiser than her years daughter, Gracie, and you’ve got the formula for a perfect finale to an epic, small town series.
The audio performances by Emma Wilder & Jacob Morgan were excellent. They executed the story with so much love and emotion, you’ll feel like you’re watching it play out in a movie.
Thank you so much for Laura Pavlov & Valentine PR for allowing me to review this ARC/ALC.

Simply Wonderful
After the Storm is a second chance contemporary romance by Laura Pavlov. This is the fifth book in the Cottonwood Cove series of connected stand-alone books. I have never read one of her books before and I am wondering why it took me so long. Not having read any of the previous four books in the series did not impact my enjoyment of the couple for whom this story was written. This was a well written story about two people who had met when fifteen years old and always loved each other. Life goals, geography, and family had gotten in the way and their decision to part had left them both heart-broken. In this novel, Presley had just filed for divorce after her famous husband was outed for getting his Assistant pregnant. Her father had just had a stroke and was going to his home in Cottonwood Cove for rehabilitation. Presley had not been back there since she and Cage had ended things, but her father needed her and she had taken a partial leave of absence/ teleworking arrangement in order to be there for him. Cage was the town Veterinarian and a grumpy single dad to Presley’s sunshine. It was inevitable that their paths would cross. The question was whether they would each have their hearts intact when their life circumstances necessitated their parting yet again. I listened to this audiobook and was drawn in by the narrators performance and their ability to communicate the emotional depth of this book. Presley and Cage were absolutely meant to be together and I loved reading a story about how two people who had always loved each other finally get out of their own way. Cage’s daughter was adorable and added a lot of humor to the story as did his extended family. I definitely recommend this book for readers of contemporary romance. It is a must read/listen. I am voluntarily submitting this honest review after listening to an advanced complementary copy of this audiobook thanks to Valentine PR and Laura Pavlov.

Beautiful story
"After the Storm" by Laura Pavlov is a captivating conclusion to the Cottonwood Cove Series. I'm saddened to see the end of this well-crafted world. The author excels at building a rich, engaging environment filled with palpable chemistry and heartwarming single-dad moments. The reunion of the grumpy yet endearing Cage with the one who got away, Presley, unfolds in a delightful way, especially against the backdrop of a snowstorm and a hotel room with only one bed.
The narrative skillfully balances steamy moments with the genuine sweetness of father-daughter interactions. It’s an easy to read/listen story coupled with well-executed humor and romantic scenes that makes it for a delightful experience. The narrators bring these characters to life, enhancing the overall enjoyment.
Laura Pavlov delivers a feel-good, happily-ever-after tale left me half sad half happy and emotionally invested in the characters' journey.
A perfect series for small town romance lovers.

Cowboy and his Raven
This book deserves more than just a 5-star rating. What a gorgeous journey it has been as we come to the end of the Cottonwood Cove series. While it's bittersweet to see it conclude, I'm grateful to have been a part of the journey. Cage's book was highly anticipated, and Laura did not disappoint. Throughout the past four books, we've seen Cage as the grumpiest Reynolds sibling, and the doting father to the most adorable Gracie.
The book answered our questions about his past and why he's always so grumpy. The return of his one true love, Presley, added a new dimension to the story. It was easy to fall in love with her and root for her and Cage. Despite Cage's protective instincts toward Gracie, he became more himself when he was with Presley. Laura's writing style makes the Reynolds family feel like lifelong friends, and it's been a joy to laugh, cry, and fall in love with them and the world of Cottonwood Cove. I especially love how second chances allow characters to grow from their past, as seen in Cage and Presley's relationship. The bond between Gracie and Presley was heartwarming, and there were many moments that brought me to tears.
The book's humor, from the family group chat to the animal stories, will make you laugh out loud, while the love between the characters will make you cry tears of joy. It's an amazing book and a perfect conclusion to the series. It was also great to see the Thomas family again, bringing the story full circle. Although we have to say goodbye to Cottonwood Cove, it will always hold a special place in my heart. Don't miss out on this incredible book by Laura.

Loved!! Amazing story and narration
After the Storm was a fun and beautifully written heartwarming story! Absolutely stands on its own as I have only read one other book by this author, but I plan to read this entire series soon.
Cage Reynolds is a grumpy single dad to an adorable little girl, Gracie. I loved their relationship and Gracie definitely made me giggle a few times. Presley is the girl; Cage first loved and still loves since he was 15 years old. Presley is back in town and of their friendship picks back up. I adored both of these characters and how easy their relationship and connection were. There was no doubt in my mind they were meant to be and hated all the years they missed because of timing. Loved their journey to their hea and how both were willing to put in the effort to make it happen! A book I absolutely loved listening to and recommend!
Narrated by Emma Wilder and Jacob Morgan - they were paired perfectly together for this story! Their voices fit the characters well and they both had me drawn into the story and hanging on every word as I listened. A well-done audiobook and look forward to listening to them again in future books.

After The Storm
I was already waiting for Cage's story - the grumpy animaldoctor 😁
I love his grumpiness, his weird pets and of course his daughter. She is wiser than she should be and such a cutie.
Presley fits perfectly into their family, although they ignore it. But Cages and Presleys love was so strong, it survived all those years they were apart.
Emmas and Jacobs voices fit great for those two and they did a fantastic job.
