Summary

Mel Taylor was thirteen years old when she found her Mr Right. Twenty years on they remain blissfully in love. She has the man she adores, a gorgeous daughter, a great job and a dream home. But Mel's seemingly perfect life is spoilt by a dark secret and a niggling fear that her good fortune can't last for ever. Despite her husband Adam telling her to live for the present and stop worrying about the future, Mel can't shake the feeling that someone is about to call time on their happiness. And then it happens.

Couldn’t stop listening!

A great and gripping story which kept me hooked throughout. Loved the way the story was told from different perspectives.

Best Narrator I have heard

Lovely story with a realism and which could effect anyone's life
Narrator portrays the different characters with a true realism so you hear their emotions.
Offers true life humour, sorrow, regret, delight and hope. Has been a pleasure to listen to.

Notthing really happens

The story is just a continuous telling of what it would be like if someone is in a vegetive state, sad but monotonous grind for the family. The big secret really isn’t worth waiting for. I also felt the narrators voice was much older than the supposedly 34yr old at the centre of the book. Sorry but Not worth the hours to listen to it.

Awful narrator

I’ve listened to a lot of Linda Green’s books narrated by the likes of Emma Gregory who is brilliant, but I won’t be listening to any more narrated by Suzie Aitcheson, I’m afraid. She made the story sound like a flippant comedy sitcom, which it wasn’t, and the only reason I made it to the end was because I love this author.

A bit far fetched

It’s ok but I’ve enjoyed other books by this author far more. Seems very far fetched in places and more like a fantasy novel.

Excellent

I love the way the story moved between husband and wife and their experiences…. It was powerful and a reminder that faith and acceptance are powerful forces.

An unusual and beautiful story

This is a story of love, hope and commitment. Memorable and uplifting and well narrated. I really enjoyed it. It's the second Linda Green novel I have read and I will read more; she writes with great insight and emotion.

An interesting perspective on life.

Loved this from start to finish.
Great seeing something from both sides for once. Well written and performed giving real insight to the people involved and their real feelings, hopes and fears when tragedy strikes.
Really made me think how something can affect so many people in different ways,
couldn't put it down.
Will definitely try some more by this author.
