About this listen
'Just for a moment, I was young and invincible again, back before I made the decision that changed the rest of my life....'
Susie did something that she knows she will always regret: giving her baby son up for adoption, to keep her infidelity secret from her family. Louise, Susie's daughter, feels the effects of that decision echoing down through the years - her mother has always been difficult, too strict with her but not strict enough with her sister, Grace, who is wild and out of control. And Danny, Susie's husband, adores her but has always sensed something wrong at the heart of their marriage.
When tragedy strikes the family, and a chance discovery threatens to bring the truth to light, the sisters' relationship is put to the test as they are faced with an impossible choice.
From the best-selling author of The Silent Wife, The Secret Child is a heartbreaking novel about family secrets and lies. Perfect for fans of Liane Moriarty, Jojo Moyes and Diane Chamberlain.

I loved everything about it!
This book made me stay in the gym longer than I planned, I wouldn’t want to stop listening. It switches from being very funny to making your heart ache in sorrow, a right rollercoaster but always down to earth with absolutely believable characters. A rounded storyline, which builds up to a soothing crescendo. A definite recommendation!

The truth will out
The title says it all, but the title is also suggests it being a bit chick lit cheesy.
The book was far from cheesy and Kerry Fisher has really done well to understand and write about so much human emotions from different eras.
She wrote about the charscters so personally, showing what we will do to protect our children and how we sometimes get it wrong, However we can embrace and learn from it too.
Lastly the narration was first class, each voice different and easy in the ear. By the end of the book I felt I have known this family for years .

Loved this book.
Beautifully crafted story. The characters are believable, the story flies through the tears and I loved how the narrative passed to Grace part way through the book.
Very well read with a good pace. The narrator has a very pleasant voice with no annoying false accents which often crop up in other audiobooks.
Definitely searching for more books by this author.

Really Touching Story!
Enjoyed this book a really quite heart rendering story which is probably one that some people can certainly relate to especially in an era where things had to be kept secret and then have to deal with the consequence as a lifetime of torment to oneself. Great narration & well done to Kerry Fisher.

Powerful and relatable
Thought this book was powerful and relatable even if you hadn’t gone through a similar experience as Susie, I related to Danny, whose heart was as big and was like my own fathers. Susie irritated me in the early part of the book but as the story unfolds you warm to her with such understanding. The dimensional relationships between different members of the family and Jeanie set the scene for a powerful story, I couldn’t stop listening and cried throughout final third of the book! Highly recommended loved it. Thank you Kerry

So love this book
I so enjoyed this lovely book. As a big fan of Long Lost Family, this book bought up so many emotions it is beautifully written, amazing characters, beautifully read also. Well done Kerry, I even cried at the end. I wonder how many people have no idea they were adopted.

Tears and tears
Wonderful thoughtful book
Extremely well thought out and written . Very emotional
I was growing up though the sixties and believing society was more liberal in its views . This book taught me a lot about that time and about families . Recommend for discerning people of any age

Wow, what a moving and wonderful book. You don’t truly understand what someone else is going through unless you live in their shoes. Beautifully written
