About this listen

Listen to it because:

Aaron Dembski-Bowden takes an event mentioned in a Warhammer 40,000 rulebook - the Fall of Vilamus - and weaves his Night Lords characters into it, crafting a tense and dramatic tale of honour (or the complete lack thereof) amongst traitors...you'd think they'd know better that to trust one another.

The story:

Driven on by their hatred of the False Emperor, the Night Lords stalk the shadows of the galaxy, eternally seeking revenge for the death of their primarch. Their dark quest leads them to a fractious alliance with the Red Corsairs, united only by a common enemy. Together with this piratical band of renegades, they bring their ways of destruction to the fortress-monastery of the Marines Errant.

Written by Aaron Dembski-Bowden. Narrated by Andrew Wincott.

hooked on the night lords

This is the second book in the series and it's brilliant.
I have never really been a fan of chaos legions, but these are so good.
the story and narrative bring the characters to life.
can't wait for the next one

Never thought i'd empathize with the Night lords

I didn't think the second book could eclipse the first, but here i am. This is a must read for fans of the NLs or people looking to learn more about traitor legions. it really hammers down that there is more to the heretics (sometimes) than just mindless slaughter.

Fantastic

Brilliant book and really well read. The red Corsairs bring a great balance to the Nightlords that makes for a very compelling story.

Brilliant

Part two is easily as good as the first in the trilogy, seeing the politics between the different factions and seeing how a fallen chapter continues to survive is fascinating. ADB manages to write a protagonist that can be down right cruel and evil but you still route for Which is an achievement.

Narrator was also very well done with characters being distinct enough from each other and the action being brought to life quite well.

Awesome

How could you top soul hunter?? Idk how,but this did !!! More brutal violence, more gruesome filth, sadder tragedy, the occasional comedic or wholesome relief sprinkled in perfectly. A whole lot of heretical grim darkness!

Praise to the 8th Legion

Wow what another great story and continued teeth clenching book the first one was good but this one just elevated the series to a new level and makes you feel so many emotions and how can you come to care for Heretics but hound is definitely an underrated character and one of my favourite characters in this series then there’s Talos and we can see how his character is evolving and taking on more of a serious role within the warband. Praise the ruinious powers for this book and I’m looking forward to listening to the final instalment.

Great book indeed!

Night Lords are fun, the book does well to humanise those murder-hobos, the Red Corsairs are infertile from eating chaos candles. the
