Summary
A therapist once told Martin Stevens that being gay was the only thing that saved him from being the most boring man alive. He spends his daytime working a dead-end job and his nights still pining after the ex-fiance who left him five years ago. When his older brother, Daniel, takes him to see a touring musical, a mishap sends superstar performer Alec Jameson flying off the stage right into Martin's lap. It's love at first sight. But can that love withstand the scrutiny of the press, a shock-jock radio personality bent on causing trouble, and the return of Martin's overbearing ex-fiance?

New Author and Narrator but not for long.
This is a wonderful story that comes full circle. Wishing Martin and Alec a lifetime of happiness.

Wonderful short story
This is my first from both the author and the narrator and I am very happy to have gotten the chance to listen.
The story is short, sweet and has endearing characters. It flows well and obviously has a quickly moving story line given how short the narration is - 1hr 39.
The narration is good, enough difference between characters speech to know who is talking and emotions come across well throughout the story, experiencing the highs and lows.
I'd recommend giving this book, author and narrator a chance if you haven't yet. A feel good romance :0)

A great little listen
I loved this novella, it was a great fun listen.
Martin was an invisible nobody until his brother took him to see a musical and a man literally flew into his lap.
Martin does not realise his worth until Alec.
The narrator did a good job and my only issue is he read too fast in places, I thought I had accidentally up'd the speed somehow.

Lovely!
Would you listen to Catch a Falling Star again? Why?
I would definitely listen to this book again. It's a lovely, uncomplicated feel good love story. Martin has spent most of his adult life being put down by co-workers, his GP and even his ex-fiance. He meets Alec, an actor and they get to know each other. Martin can't believe that Alec is interested in him, but Alec shows him how interested he is.The 2 MC's are very nice, I really liked them. Martin finally is able to assert himself, much to the chagrin of his ex - I loved that!
Who was your favorite character and why?
I really liked both MC's but I loved Martin's brother - so supportive :)
What about John Steinkamp’s performance did you like?
He did a good job with the narration . Even though he didn't really differentiate between the characters, it didn't detract from my enjoyment. He has a steady cadence that kept me engaged. I would listen to him narrate again.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I smiled at the humour and cheered when Martin finally told his ex where to get off :)
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed it.
