About this listen
Travis King is the worst kind of a**hole.
He taunts me for being a good girl and mocks my high standards.
He's cruel, crass, and has enough confidence to last two lifetimes.
And I hate him.
It wouldn't matter so much if he were avoidable.
But considering he's my older brother's best friend and roommate, I see him more than I'd ever want to.
His sculpted abs and gorgeous eyes are wasted on such an arrogant man, which makes me hate him even more.
Even though I've had a crush on him since I was 10, the feelings weren't mutual and he's made that very clear.
He's always loved getting under my skin, and one night against my better judgment, I let him in my bed.
I've succumbed to his manw**re ways, but that doesn't change a thing.
Because the King is about to get played at his own game - and lose.
Checkmate.
©2016 Kennedy Fox (P)2016 Kennedy FoxI’m not sure if I wanna love these characters or strangle them. Really enjoying this book and wanting more.
I’m new to Kennedy Fox, this was my first audiobook of hers, I have heard Lia as a narrator and she’s done an amazing job on this audiobook.
I was given this audiobook at my request and the review is based solely on my opinion.
I’m positive that anyone who hears this first in the series is going to want to hear more just like me but I’m going to have to wait until my next credit.
Thanks to Aural Fixation Giveaways for this audiobook.

Travis has a way with women, but he keeps his relationships casual and short. He has perfected the art of doing whatever he can to draw the ire of Viola both with actions and with words. He is determined to deny the chemistry between them until he can’t and just when you think they may be able to overcome their past life throws them a curve
ball that leaves us needing the rest of their story.
Their interactions are humorous, the heat between is hot and Viola is fierce, but she has her mind firmly made up about Travis however there is so much more to the man than first appears. I really enjoyed the performance of the narrator and didn’t miss the fact that it wasn’t a dual narration.

Viola and Travis have a long history and not all of it is good.
Lia Longola really brings the feelings that these characters have for each other, to life and portrays the angst superbly.
Obviously as this is a duet there is no HEA but with this particular cliffhanger ending, you will definitely go back for more!
A nail biting cliffhanger - woohoo

I can't wait to listen to their conclusion.
Lia did a fabulous job with narration.

Attention alpha-hole lovers - Travis is a big one. He does not make the best choices so I have a hard time feeling sorry for him and will have to do a lot of groveling to turn himself around. I CAN'T WAIT!! I enjoyed Viola and all other side characters. Looking forward to the next book in the duet and in the series.
At first, I was disappointed there was only 1 narrator but she did a fantastic job voicing both the male and female POVs.

Viola & Travis are perfect for each other. Their bickering is great and when they finally slept together I could “hear”the sparks flying. It was sooo hot!!!
This book ends in a cliffhanger and what a cliffhanger… can’t wait for book 2

Travis made me want to bash his head against a wall a few times! He drove me crazy with his man-whoring ways and cocky attitude. I loved Viola putting him in his place. I might have cringed myself when he dished it back out and put her in her place. She wasn't all perfection, oh no, Viola definitely tried to drive Travis just as wild as he drove her. They both enjoyed pushing each other buttons until they couldn't take it. Speaking of not being able to take it... THAT ENDING!!! Or that CLIFFHANGER, I should say! Good Lord, I feel slightly crazed after that ending! 🤯
The narrator, Lia Langola, surprised me a bit. I'm a listener that really prefers multiple POVs to be performed by the respected house. We get both Viola and Travis's POV here and Langola performs for both of them. I think was surprised me the most was I didn't hate it! Actually, it was the complete opposite... I enjoyed the narration immensely. I felt Lia really showcased the feelings both these characters showed especially the frustration bordering on anger.
🤯 🤯 That Cliffy though!!! 🤯 🤯

Years later her brother Drew and Travis are roommates and it's impossible to avoid seeing Travis some times but when they do meet Viola and Travis tease and snipe at each other. Then during spring break whilst Drew is staying with his girlfriend Viola goes to stay at the house Drew and Travis share, alone their teasing and bickering take on a whole new level as they fight the attraction they can no longer deny.
I admit that I didn't much like either of the characters although as the story progressed they did become a little more likeable, the storyline is at times quite hot at times and funny.
The narration of this book by Lia Langola is excellent.
I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

She has a certain style that draws you in, always fluid with compelling characters, this one is no exception. I wouldn't go that far as to say it's a enemies to lovers story, they weren't enemies, Travis didn't even know why Viola didn't like him. It's a love to hate kind of story, one that I deeply enjoyed. The banter is nice, the characters likeable and the "games" are hilarious! Kinda juvenile, but like I said, the author has a way with words so everything sounds believable.
Lia Langola does a good job, I like her voice and her narration and overall I think it was a good choice for this book, her mature voice gave life to Viola.
