About this listen
What surprises might life have in store for you?
A takeaway, TV and tea with two sugars is about as exciting as it gets for 30-something Sophie Stone. Sophie's life is safe and predictable, which is just the way she likes it, thank you very much. But when a mysterious benefactor leaves her an inheritance, Sophie has to accept that change is afoot. There is one big catch: in order to inherit, Sophie must agree to meet the father she has never seen. Saying yes means the chance to build her own dream home, but she'll also have to face the past and hear some uncomfortable truths....
With interference from an evil boss, warring parents, an unreliable boyfriend and an architect who puts his foot in it every time he opens his mouth, will Sophie be able to build a future on her own terms - and maybe even find love along the way?
A totally charming modern love story for fans of Katie Fforde, Carole Matthews and Trisha Ashley.

Easy going chic lit
What other book might you compare Conditional Love to, and why?
Was very like lot of books written by Milly Johnson.
Which character – as performed by Colleen Prendergast – was your favourite?
I loved all the female characters in the book. The main character was Sophie, but her flat mates were fun to listen to a well. It had a few twists and turns, it was a bit predictable as chic lit novels often are, but it was light hearted and enjoyable just the same. Nick was lovely, Mark was horrible, her mum was mad and her dad was lovely. College Prendergast was an excellent narrator as always.
Any additional comments?

Building bricks of love
Enjoyable love ramble with the usual twists and turns of most romantic novels, the difference being good strong characters and interestingly different theme

Really struggled with this one
I really love Cathy Bramley books but I just really struggled with this one. References to body image & being ‘fat’ not acceptable. Listened to the end but wasn’t worth it

Conditional Love . A Cathy Bramley feel good book
It's book made me feel all warm and cosy, one of those books you kick off your shoe pore a glass of wine , put another log on the fire and settle down to a night of far away dreams .
Sofie is a girl that never steps out of her comfort zone until she reserves a cottage in her Auntie will .
slowly she emerges from her cucone into a strong women who will stop at nothing until she gets answers and what she want out of life.
A great read and a talented narrator.
