About this listen

Hanging up your dancing shoes isn't so easy when you can't let go of your former dance partner.

Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to the Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy, single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other's backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again.

This is Adam's story....

Single dad of Seattle Adam Eastwood knows that dance school is just the thing for his precocious daughter, Mira. She already spends most days twirling around the house in a tutu and tiara, why not pay a professional to teach her how to do it properly? Only Adam didn't account for that professional to be the Violet Benson from a very famous New York ballet company. Not only is Violet a natural beauty who floats more than she dances, but she's the kind of woman Adam's been searching for all his life.

Grieving the loss of her dance partner and boyfriend, Violet is done with performing on stage. How can she go on when the love of her life is no longer there to catch her? Deciding a change is best, she moves back home to Seattle, determined to fulfill their dream of opening up a dance school. It's not until she's asked to dance for Art in the Park that she realizes maybe she's not quite ready to hang up her dance shoes. Would it be wrong to take the stage one last time? It must be wrong to feel what she feels when she's dancing with Mira's handsome father.

Adam's wounds are still fresh from his divorce, and Violet's dealing with a loss of her own, but somehow they keep winding up in each other's arms with neither of them willing to let go. But it's never easy to conquer the past. Will Violet let fear and grief keep her from her dreams? Or will Adam convince her that the show must go on and dancing with the single dad might just be the way for her to find her happily ever after?

Note: This book can be listened to as a stand-alone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and, of course, as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliff-hanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.

Great listen.

I am continuing to really enjoy this series. The dad's are such good parents and the ladies have good taste. This is just a pleasing listen. Heart squeezing.
The narration elevated the story, the Erin Bateman and Gregory Salinas bring the characters to life with their crisp, clear and believable performances.

5 Heart Melting Stars

I received this audiobook at my request via a promo code from The Flock and this is my voluntary unbiased review.

Book 2 of the Single Dads of Seattle focuses on grieving Dance teacher Violet and the divorced single dad of a cute kid, Mira who attends her kiddie dance class. Adam Eastwood has been single for a while now, still reeling from the end of his marriage following his ex wifes miscarriages and fertility issues. Violet knows loss intimately, as does her brother whom Adam has taken under his wing as the newest member of the Single Dads of Seattle Support Group. The performances in this book were so good, it really brought the book to life, this was beautiful, steamy and poignant as these two rediscover love and learn to move on together, along side those fancy dance moves. I had a lovely afternoon listening to this story. Definitely in my feel-good playlist.

Loved

I loved listening to the dual narration of Gregory Salinas and Erin Bateman, both perfect for this book.

After losing her dance partner and boyfriend , Violet has opened a dance school, And is not looking for love.

Adam who is divorced has enrolled his daughter Mira for dance lessons and Violet is her new dance teacher.
They have an instant connection. Neither is looking for a new relationship but they cannot deny the chemistry between them. They are undeniably attracted to each other, the sex is hot and steamy,
Good story, great characters.

Single Dad of Seattle book 2

Dancing With The Single Dad, single dads ilof Seattle book 2 by Whitley Cox
Narration by Gregory Salinas and Erin Bateman

Started on 11/17 finished 11/20

Adam Eastwood and daughter Mira meet dance instructor Violet.

Adam and Violet’s story.

These books are standalone but it’s great to hear from the others in their club. Adam is still hurting from the end of his marriage to Paige. He’s tried to get her to try again but there’s too much that happened for Paige to go there again. Adam is the provider of their daughter Mira who is a precocious little girl who loves to dance. It’s something that Adam shares with her, and he enrols her into a dance class. Said dance class has no other than the beautiful Violet who performed for the NYC ballet. He’s blow away by her beauty right away but she’s trying to heal herself. She’s opened the dance studio which was her and her partners dream. Tragically he lost his fight with cancer and she came back home trying to live again.

There’s some really sad stuff in both of their pasts but when they try a relationship there was some really funny moments too. Especially with Mira.

I really loved the support of the single dads club. They love ribbing one another.

There was a few twists that kept it current and some really sexy times that left me saying Go For It! So glad they gave each other a chance and we’re able to support one another.

Gregory Salinas is a favourite of mine. He seamlessly envelopes the characters he does. He bought out Adam’s insecurities of getting involved again and he was steamy when Violet and he finally went there! Erin Bateman is new to me and I really liked how she wasn’t afraid to explore all of the emotions that Violet has. And I loved her little girl voices too.

Sweet

This is a sweet single parent romance. Adam is the father of Mira, who wants to be a dancer. Violet is a professional dancer who suffered the loss of her prior partner and love. As such, she decided to become a dance teacher which is where she meets Mira and, of course, Adam. I smiled a lot because the kids are so cute and I enjoyed the interactions between the single dads (they set up a group to help each other deal with being single dads.). While I liked Violet and Adam's relationship, I have to admit that Violet's continued heartbreak and mourning of her lost love took a little shine away from the romance for me. I mean, the absolute heartbreak that Violet experienced basically makes it feel like Adam is a second choice. That's just a personal preference in terms of the relationship set-up though, so others may not feel as strongly about it as me!

I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by Gregory Salinas and Erin Bateman. I thought it was well done. I love Gregory Salinas' deep voice but also how he was able to transition to playing female characters and children. Erin Bateman also did well playing multiple characters and it was overall a pleasure to listen to.

Contemporary Single Dad Romance

Dancing With The Single Dad by Whitley Cox is a contemporary single dad romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Erin Bateman and Gregory Salinas. This is the second book in The Single Dads Of Seattle series and can be read as a standalone.

The book comes with a note "This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and of course as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliffhanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you."

This is the second book of Whitley's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Adam and Violet. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Saved By The Single Dad to be released on audio so I can get Mitch and Paige's story.

Erin and Gregory did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like single dad romances or contemporary romances.

My Thoughts on Dancing with the Single Dad

I am really enjoying this series about single dads. This time single dad Adam meets and falls for his daughter’s dance teacher Violet. The two connect through a love of dance and their grief due to losses they’ve both suffered. But over the course of the story they begin to heal both each other and themselves. The story was a good mix of sweet, steamy, suspense and of course love. There was family drama, stalkers and exs. It was all really well written and made for a great listen.

The narrators did a great job. I enjoyed both of their performances, but Gregory Salinas in particular is growing on me more and more with each performance. He shows really good emotion and has an overall great tone. Erin Bateman is newer for me but I wouldn’t mind trying more by her in future.
