The narration by Greg Wise was great and very convincing. It was very atmospheric and quite scary at times.

Great narrator

Saskia Reeves also reads this book. I downloaded this after being enthralled by the recent BBC drama of the same name and, although quite different, it didn’t disappoint, and it’s been great to experience the original. The performances by both readers are excellent. The story does drag a little bit in the middle but picks up again later on so bear with it. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be seeking out more classic horrors.

Outstanding performances, great classic horror

thrilling, at some parts a bit dragging. most worthy of a listen tho. the length is a bit discouraging, but I'm half-way thru and I cannot stop listening
this should be a mandatory reading in schools.

absolute gem everyone should read

A story and performance I've listened to many times. Excellently performed. And an audio book I'll be enjoying for years to come.

I am an audible veteran and have listened to a large host of audio books ranging from sci-fi and fantasy, to historical non fiction and this is one of the best performances I’ve ever listened to.
The style of telling the story is continuously through different characters perspectives is a seedless flow and the emotions in the delivery and the plot was amazing. This is a very good example of how a story that is normally a 7/10 is transformed into a solid 10/10 with the right delivery.

Warning- it’s a bit long but worth every minute.

I’ve seen many versions of Dracula through cinema / film (the Gary Oldman one by far the best), so it was only a matter of time before I’d listen to the book! Verdict - fantastic! A narrative entirely developed from diaries and articles, it oozes gothic horror, introducing iconic characters like Abraham Van Helsing and of course, the original Vampire, Count Dracula. The setting of Whitby, a place I absolutely love, elevates the story furthermore to a conclusion that is exciting and fast-paced. As per the title, a classic in every respect!

Just A Classic In Every Respect …..
