About this listen
The Shadow is the part of us made up of all that we hide from others: our shame, our fears and our wounds, but also our divine spirit, our blinding beauty and our hidden talents. The Shadow is not bad—in fact it is the source of our creativity and power—but until we bring it into the light this power will remain untapped and our full potential unreached. Using practical exercises sourced from lucid dreaming and dream-work, Tibetan Buddhism and mindfulness meditation, this audiobook explores how to:
- Transform the dark and light shadow side
- Meet the shadow through your dreams- Unlock your creativity
- Transform Nightmares through lucid dreaming
- Manifest your hidden potential
- Make friends with fear & anxiety
- Decrease stress through Mindfulness of Dream & Sleep
This audiobook will show you how to fearlessly embrace your shadow side in both your dreams and daily life, thereby manifesting the awakened power of your full potential.

'Charlie Morley has produced not just a self-help book but a guide to befriending all of who you truly are. Charlie is the real deal, and this book is like being led down a full spiritual journey by an old and jovial friend. An honest, compassionate and enjoyable read that will lead to incredible self-acceptance and joy.’
Lodro Rinzler, author of The Buddha Walks into a Bar and Love Hurts
‘With great lucidity, Charlie Morley show us how, instead of hiding from our shadow, rejecting it or indulging it, we can in fact integrate it so that we achieve much greater wholeness and personal freedom. I learned so much from this book and know I will return to it time and time again.’
David R. Hamilton PhD, author of How Your Mind Can Heal Your Body and The Five Side Effects of Kindness
‘Dreaming Through Darkness offers an incredible array of insights and an enlivening collection of exercises that help you to love the full spectrum of yourself and wake up to the most wonderful life.’

I loved this book...
Fantastic book to listen to, and worked really well as an audiobook, as it had several guided meditations. I'll be listening to this one over and over again for insight and inspiration. Thank you Charlie.

Really Useful Book
I have recommended this book to more people than perhaps any I've read. Charlie takes you on a journey into the shadow and, through sharing his own journey, makes this book less of an instruction manual and more of an inclusive practice-based approach anyone can do. If you're a human, you can grow through doing shadow work. I was always interested and somewhat afraid of my own shadow but this book gave me a sense of excitement and anticipation as I went through the exercises. I can honestly say this book has helped me enormously. The book is well researched and full of great insights. Along with other practices I do, it has taken me to a much deeper place of self-acceptance and integration - a place I always wanted to reach in my life. I'm also into dreamwork so the recognising shadow aspects in dreams part I found really useful alongside the exercises. I have integrated this practice into my every day. Being who you are is nothing to be ashamed, embarrassed or afraid of, and if you take on the exercises in this book you may well be on the road to self-acceptance and a new experience of life.

Life changing.
So I haven't finished this book yet but Charlie's work is Amazing thank you Charlie! I first listening to Dreams of Awakening then the shorter version and now this one. I have been looking for a more effective and more to the point way of healing and integration and here I have found it. From the start I have been recalling my dreams pretty much every night, I have had two lucid occurances and last night I Dreamt about my shadow!
It wasn't a lucid dream but wow do I feel lighter. I Dreamt I was talking to someone and they told me about vomiting up the darkness so I asked if they could help me do so, as soon as they touched me I started violently vomiting, I felt something come up from my stomach and when It got to my throat I turned into a slimy, hunched back, lizard creature who was angry, tried to bad mouth people, and scare my friends away, although I was my shadow at this point I felt a great deal of acceptance for this part of me to express itself how ever it liked and the people around me just looked with content and acceptance to.
The morning after this in my meditation I felt like I touched a state of mind I hadn't experienced before. I felt so tranquil, calm, light and content. Physically I feel so too. I know this path is for me and I'm so glad I've discovered a direct line to the parts of me I have berried. 🙏 Amazing.

Don't buy this book
I bought this mistakenly thinking it will give me an insight into lucid dreaming. I am incredibly disappointed, I got no insight into this at all. Writing down dreams after we wake up and recollecting them can give an insight into what we have been dreaming about but not enable us to develop lucid dreaming (where we may be able to recognise and even alter the actual outcome of our dream, during the dream). This book is a pop-psychology work about the unconscious (as a psychoanalyst might refer to this aspect of ourselves) but Charlie Morley is encouraging us to explore this profound aspect of self in a superficial way. Simply with the aid of his book, without a qualified professional to unearth and discuss the disturbing aspects of ourself that we may begin to touch on through insights provided by our dreams. This is like sending the reader or listener up a dangerous mountain alone, with a map but with no experienced guide - just a book on mountaneering.

Pop self help speech
I find the content and the manner in which is present to be irritating, overly eager to show off and too enthusiastic ,big on promise but mediocre in delivery and heavy on lecturing . I will not associate authenticity (which I expected when choosing a book on the shadow work )with this particular book, more of a pop self help . I could not finish the book. Name and quotes dropped often repeat mentioning in a disguised attempt to promote retreats and workshops to upsell
