Summary

Jev Dharrow is trying to convince his father to cancel his arranged marriage so he can wed Zenia, the woman he loves. But when elven assassins arrive in the city, all his personal problems must be set aside.

They are after his good friend, Lornysh, an elf who has saved Jev's life a dozen times over the years. The assassins consider Lornysh to be a traitor to their people, and they’ll kill anyone who stands at his side. They wield great magic as well as their swords, and they have the power to destroy half the city as they chase after their target.

With the arranged marriage looming and elven assassins on the warpath, Jev is running out of time to save his friend - and his own future.

A Fun Series, inbetween the battles

Now that Jev and Zenia have finally decided they will try and make a go of things, Jev's father has put a spanner in the works by promising him to another woman, who is being manipulated by her social climber of a mother. However, all is not as it seems when we find out why/how Jev's father is being manipulated.

As if that isn't enough, a group of elven wardens have arrived in Kor to assassinate Lornysh for fighting with the humans against his own people. The history of the vendetta finally comes out when Lornysh is badly wounded. But that doesn't really help with the promise that anyone who stands beside him will also be killed.

The Elven Princess has arrived in Kor and it looks like King Tarygon is smitten. A sad ending to this book when we learn that a dragon soul is linked to Zenia's dragon tear and the dragon is being imprisoned and tortured. The final book in this series is promising to be full of battles and magic and, hopefully, a happy ending for Jev and Zenia.
