Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

Are you overwhelmed by conflicting nutritional advice?

Do you struggle to make healthier food choices?

In theory we all know what works and doesn't work for our bodies; we know that we should eat more vegetables, consume less refined sugar and saturated fat, avoid ultra-processed foods. We know that what we choose to eat has a direct consequence on our health and our happiness. But we have lost touch with our food; it's produced far away from our day to day lives and often arrives prepared and pre-packed to our homes, our desks and our supermarkets. We have built a food environment that is based on food marketing and arbitrary targets, instead of responding to our biology and nourishing ourselves as individuals.

In Every Body Should Know This, Dr Federica Amati, registered nutritionist and communications strategist at renowned health science company ZOE, explains how to make the most beneficial decisions for maintaining good health at every stage of life. This first-of-a-kind book combines nutrition, medical science and public health advice to create a simple evidence-based guide to what we should all know about our food and how it affects us.

Packed with jargon-free advice, and informed by the latest metabolic health research, Federica explores each life stage, from childhood right through to our senior years, delivering targeted recommendations for all, so everybody can have a better insight to what works for them personally, and reclaim the pleasure and the power of food.

Very superficial book

The information is very superficial and most the time facts are claimed without any reasoning or information about research is told. This book VERY overpriced. Also, ZOE and this writer are both selling each others names, which is a red flag for me

Well meaning but repetitive & dislikeable

There's some OK knowledge in here for beginners within nutrition but there's loads of repetition & it sounds like a collection of NHS pamphlets at times. Also doesn't help that the author comes across as standard privileged London upper middle class white woman in her writing, saying how it's sad so many people can't access her services while within practically the same paragraph mentioning her high ranking work situation; do some free work rather than writing a book then. About 20 minutes of the audiobook are about men so you'll get even less out of it as a male. I can save you 7 hours by summarising; avoid ultra processed foods, eat the Mediterranean diet, eat lots of types of vegetables, sleep properly & eat fermented foods. That's basically it.
