About this listen

The Alaskan wilderness holds a nightmarish secret that threatens all of humanity in this epic sci-fi horror thriller. An audiobook so scary that it requires a warning label and a global phenomenon that is on track to sell more than one million ebook copies.

It was supposed to be just another mission.

Buried deep in the rugged Alaskan wilderness lies a secret that could alter the future of mankind - a secret that billionaire Elizabeth Grey has invested millions in solving. But when the dig goes silent and all attempts at making contact fail, an elite team of battle-hardened military contractors is brought in led by former Marine Max Ahlgren, a warrior haunted by his past.

While the mission to make contact and rescue a team of scientists and engineers working on an “archeological” project seems like an easy payday, once on ground, the team discovers the grizzly truth that this is no ordinary rescue. Max and his men find themselves in the fight of their lives against a nightmarish enemy like nothing they have ever seen. In what quickly becomes a struggle for survival, the world’s greatest soldiers will encounter the universe’s ultimate terror in a battle that puts all of humanity at stake.

No backup. No escape. No hope.

Terrifying, visceral, and deeply moving, Existential is a novel that will haunt you forever.

Pick up your copy now and embark on an epic journey that will leave your heart pounding with every chapter. The perfect combination of science fiction, explosive action, and intense horror, Existential is a roller-coaster ride of terror!

Warning: This audiobook contains intense scenes of violence and horror. It isn't for the faint of heart. Listener discretion is advised.

hard to listen to.

I've gotten 3 chapters in and had to stop. the narrator has an inflection (always finishing on a low tone) which detracts from his actual skill. the constant up and down of his monologue finishing on a low to the next sentence makes even action points as boring as going over speed bumps. He does vary slightly but I find it difficult to ignore.. it's like listening to a bad David attenborough impression.

Dissapointment

Before listening to this book I suggest that you watch Predator & Alien2, the Thing & Dreamcatcher movies.

It starts very good but as soon as the story is revealed you understand that you are listening to an Alien2-Predator-The thing & Dream catcher mixup and not to a unique original story.
I was very disappointing.
The reason that kept me listening was the narrator's performance which was supreme.

Apart from that, I dont recommend this book.

started well then went generic

the start was well written, the mix of the army soldiers working and telling if their harsh life's before going to watch with the aliens was good. but then it ended for me. the monster was the exact same as Paul e cooley the black novel with the background setting of john carpenters the thing. felt it could be more but as the story went on it just lost momentum.

generic, slow and boring

A true C-rate book! and in short not worth your time.

the narrator is really trying, but in my opinion there is just not enough to work with in the story.
