About this listen
WANTED: Three fake boyfriends. Must be tall, handsome—and willing to teach me how to kiss.
My name is Layla Thompson, and I am undateable.
Seriously. I'm 28 and I've never had a boyfriend. And with my 30s rapidly approaching, I'm starting to lose patience.
Lucky for me, I have three best friends who are eager to help hone my dating skills. Zack, the rugged ex-rugby player. Josh, the sweet boy-next-door. And Luke, the silver-haired divorcee...who just so happens to be my old professor.
After a bad date leaves me crying on their shoulders, the three men are determined to help me find a guy. Together, they agree to be my "practice boyfriends" and come up with a lesson plan packed with fake dates, make out sessions, and classes on flirty texting. In return, I just have to make an appearance on their relationship advice podcast once a week. Easy.
But as my lessons become more and more intense, we soon find ourselves getting in too deep. Every "fake" touch lingers a little too long, and every "practice" kiss ends in fireworks. It's not long before I realize that their friendship isn't enough for me anymore. I want more.
The guys have been teaching me how to get a boyfriend, and now it's time I put their lessons to the test. Three times over.
Faking with Benefits is a sizzling fake dating romance featuring multiple love interests, tons of molten fake relationship heat, and a whole lot of heart. Dual narrated by Faye Adele, Shane East, Will Watt, and John York, with select excerpts performed in duet. HEA guaranteed!
Great voice actors & wonderful story

Its a sublime listening experience when you have four of the best British actors in game led by the stunning Faye Adele as our Layla who is the only one who can rein in the three guys, Shane East as Luke, Will Watt as Zack and John York as Josh. There is only one word for this casting, perfection. Each of them are so good at capturing and drawing out their own characters and bringing the emotion but at the same time are able to do excellent jobs imitating and matching each other when they have to take on their characters in their POV chapters.
But the truly delightful parts are the "podcast" sections when they all come together in duet it just elevates it and sprinkles so much joy and electric chemistry it will melt your earbuds! The production values on this one is next level and should be recognised. A lot of time and effort has gone into this audiobook that feels like its a world apart from its contemporaries.
The story is so absorbing that you can't help but get drawn in, it has initially all the trademarks of a classic British Rom-Com and there are definitely the engaging characters you can't help but love. The vibrant, awkward and tightly strung Layla trying to control everything in her life and fearing she is just unlikeable. The three gorgeous guys who just happen to live next door to her and are hosts of the popular dating advice show "Three Single Guys" all willing to help teach her how to get a boyfriend. The rugged, cheeky, Northern lad Zack who hides some unresolved issues behind his carefree player persona, the kind but distant guy next door Josh who's been secretly into Layla for years and then there's Luke the charming but aloof ex teacher who just keeps on resisting.
There is everything in this one, delightfully funny witty banter, charming and heartfelt moments, extremely steamy scenes and also so full on emotional moments as all four of them struggle with their own issues and the fallout of navigating this unorthodox relationship.
As I say all four of the narrators are EXCELLENT but the clear winner is Faye Adele - she carries the narrative and is just perfection as the wonderfully sweet and complex Layla. Plus she can turn you on like THAT with her male voices and I would argue rivals Will Watt's ability to sound just like Shane East! The chameleon accent king Will Watt is on fine form in this one as Zack and able to instantly wrap you up in that seductive northern tone but then will absolutely wreck you later on in the book by bringing on the emotion. John York was my revelation in this one, I had not heard him before but he is incredible as Josh and just made me instantly fall in love with the character. Plus such a natural podcast host, I wonder where he gets that from...maybe his actual podcast, The Audiobook Club which you need to check out. Finally Shane East...well he's never going to disappoint is he, of course he can play the stern older guy who resists until he finally breaks and BOY does he. Yep, enjoy!!!!

Oh and about the narration… totally drool worthy and super amazing! I wish the guys had been doing their lines throughout though, mostly because: great voices. 🤤 The female narrator? Also frickin amazing. 🤩 They all kept the different characters accents throughout no matter who was narrating which was supe impressive since I have trouble even sticking with my own.
Just listen to it.. such an amazing book.
LOVED it!

i loved the narration although i would've liked it more if it was a full duet narration instead of just parts of it.
and i thought Layla forgave the guys to quick, like the ending in getting together felt a bit rushed. overall a great story
this made me feel so much
