Summary

Shortlisted for the Audio Publisher’s Association Audie Award 2016 for Best Male Narrator.

1978: Meet Morris Bellamy, the man who robs the safe of America's most famous reclusive writer, John Rothstein. But it isn't just the money he is interested in. Morrie is obsessed with the author's notebooks and is prepared to kill the author for them.

2009: Meet young Pete Saubers, whose father was knocked down by an out-of-control Mercedes in a job line-up. When he discovers a buried trunk of money and notebooks of a famous writer, he has the means to rescue his family from poverty. If he can keep it secret.

2013: Morrie is up for parole. And he's hell-bent on recovering the notebooks.

That's when retired detective Bill Hodges - who has set up a company called Finders Keepers - discovers the scheme.

Finders Keepers is spectacular suspense. It is also King writing about how literature shapes a life - for good, for bad, for ever.

Read by award-winning narrator Will Patton, who was nominated for an Audie Award in the Solo Narration - Male category for his work on both Mr. Mercedes and Doctor Sleep.

Great listen.

Great listen. I would suggest reading Mr Mercedes first but not absolutely essential. King brings any character to life and plays well with suspense throughout the story.

Page turner

Really enjoyed this, but you should read Mr Mercedes first as it provides some background to the characters.

Dark, fascinating, thrilling

Well written, well read, well paced what more could you want?
The only thing I would say is if you haven’t read the first book in the trilogy ( this is the middle one) you do lose a bit in terms of the characters’ back story and relationships.
That said the story is stand alone and the whole thing builds nicely.

Better than Mr Mercedes

I loved the first bill hodges book but I thought this was even better. Hodges doesn't appear until quite far through, but the build up is excellent. The story of two people both obsessed with the same thing.
Narration is excellent as always

Classic King

Yet again, another great book ! Enjoyed the reunion with Bill, Holly and Jerome. Miss the supernatural subject matter but did this did not deter the excellent story and delivery !!

Great characters from King

Loved Will Patton's narration. Great characters from King as always. Wish I'd read Mr Mercedes first though as it follows some of the characters introduced in that book.

Stephen King does it again!!!

Classic SK. Tense, suspenseful and so detailed. Well-read by Will. Loved it. Really draws you in and makes you affiliate with most of the characters. Sometimes with the baddies too.

Loved it

I am a big King fan admittedly but loved the Mr Mercedes trilogy I couldn’t get enough and finished all 3 books under a week

Yes it has every cliche from any private detective book/series but with a Stephen King twist
