About this listen

The starship New Horizon is Earth's first attempt at an FTL capable spaceship. But others don't want the mission to succeed. The mission goes suddenly and horribly wrong with the possibility of inadvertently leading the Hocklyns to Earth decades in advance of their estimated arrival time. Can the cadets on the New Horizon stop the deadly plot before it's too late?

The Federation survivors on Ceres have built a new warship. It's the most powerful ship they have ever built. Its mission is simple. Return to the old Federation worlds, search for survivors, and find out how far the Hocklyn Slave Empire has spread. The whole key to their mission is secrecy, but the disastrous events on the New Horizon may jeopardize everything.

Thrilling action suspense

Forget Coan Doyle John Buchan Louis Stevenson this writer surpasses them in a modern take of suspence and action to rival books that I enjoyed fifty years back and until reading this author felt the
Enter of action books had even lost Look forward to more from the author

Badly edited interesting story

"Eyes opened wide", "sparks came out of the consol", "blue white vortex" etc are repetitive phrases that rapidly grate and give a childish feel to the writing. In general the people are poorly described and don't feel real. When there is no action this weak character description makes the story boring (not helped by flat narration).
These clear faults are compensated by a good story and strong long term narrative. So I do keep buying the next (rather short) "book" in the series.
