About this listen
Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders from New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Yarros
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.
But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.
With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.
She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.
Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom's protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.
Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.

The audiobook we deserved!!
This audiobook was excellent! The full audio book production of one of the biggest fantasy books in recent years did not disappoint. The casting was excellent. I was particularly anxious about the voices for Tairn and xaden but the narrators embodied the characters so well and the rich sound scape added so much to an already addictive story!!! Cannot wait for Iron Flame to get the same treatment!!!

Xaden’s voice undid me 😅
Wonderful production and all the voices were perfect. But the warm layers and texture of Xadens voice was like warm honey relaying the depth of passion so well

Gripping Fantasy
This dramatised version is literally a movie in your mind! I LOVED IT! I listened and read along. The story is woven together so beautifully. Definitely a book I would read again and again. It is thunder lightening with enigmatic stories, shrouded in darkness yet tinged with an electrifying allure that beckons curiosity and adventure.

Amazing! but why do we need pages and pages of sex
Loved it but skipped past the sex scenes as zzzzzzzzz so sick of sex scenes and the I'm longing for him speal. If you can ignore all that then it's a great adventure.

Enthralled
Binged it. Didn’t even wait for credits to restock themselves. Normally I struggle with audiobooks but this is so well voiced and graphic it’s good for the imagination and thoughts and feelings behind it. Wraps you up as if you were just reading a book with a cozy fire enthralled by the story

Amazing
the dramatized adaptation was simply amazing
the way they phrased and talked speak even the small catches of breath were simply wonderful for the story. I finished this within a day I couldn't stop listening the story The dialogues the way the voice actors just spoke it was filled with feelings and everything that you want to hear.I really hope they do a dramatized adaptation for the second book I'm really looking forward to it.
